VISA and Mastercard gift cards accepted?

I will enjoying the Royal Caribbean Panama Canal cruise soon.

I am wondering if local stores and vendors take VISA and Mastercard gift cards.

I don't know for sure, but they are technically debit cards, and may pose more of a problem for you at the shops. I would try and stay with a traditional credit card.

My guess would be no.

We are looking at the Cartagena Colombia Private City Sightseeing Excursion with Shore Excursioneer. We've used them in the past and they do accept MC and Visa.

Street vendors only take cash, dollars is o.k, credit or debit cards are accepted by the local stores and they also take dollars.
