We booked on the day, not sure if you can do it the day before. Once we had no booking but just walked in at 5:30pm. On the last night we could only get a booking for 8pm (even sharing), they just recommended showing up at 5:30pm and getting a cancellation, which worked. I think you have to call the reservations number, after breakfast one morning we wanted to book in person but they just gave us the phone number.

The buffet was not refurbished when we went. See http://www.pocruises.com.au/experience/pages/thepantry.aspx which does not actually mention the Dawn.

Cannot really comment on changes as it was our first cruise.

Cocktails were about $10 each from memory.

We were on the cruise before you. We spent every evening in The Orient listening to Jay and Dave, the guitarists. Your cruise was their last before heading back to New York.

They said they had something special for the very last night. I wonder if saw what it was.

Thank you so much for sharing this information. We are doing the same cruise on Dawn in four weeks. It is our first time on P & O. I am wondering if you can tell me if I should get some local currency. I was thinking of just doing my own thing rather than ship tours.

A group of us are going on one in a few weeks...can't wait!!!!

We were wondering if the buffet is still on the cruise ship, or is it The Pantry? I can't seem to find a straight answer, very mixed results.

We were on Pacific Dawn about 2.5 months ago and it was still the buffet. It hasn't been into dry dock since then, so would still be buffet at this stage.
