Grand Turk Snorkeling: Captain Explorer vs Governor's Beach

Captain Explorer looks like fun (esp. the boat ride), but is it worth an extra $150? For $4 I can take a taxi to Gov beach and snorkel for free.

Or is there something else I'm not considering?

Already bought excursions on the other islands, so I'm trying to watch the budget. (yes, I'm cheap :p)

Am interested in this too since going to GT in Jan and looking for snorkeling there...

A better word is "frugal"... this is what I tell people :)

I'm also planning a snorkeling excursion in Grand Turk instead of doing my own because I want to snorkel the "Wall" -where the reef drops to about 7000 feet. If that's something you want to experience then it might be worth it to do Captain Explorer - but then again - I don't know how far it is from the beach and if it's not a great distance to swim out to. One other thing to consider is there may be freelance guides/boat operators on the beach who can take you out to the wall for cheap. I can't comment on Captain Explorer, but May 2013 went to Governor's beach. The beach was nice, but didn't see too much when snorkeling.
