Excursions - Paul Gaugin

Can anyone advise us which excursions are worth taking from the PG and which ones should we do on our own. Should we wait until arriving in port or book these in advance? Going May 1, 2010 on a seven day cruise. Any links to excursion operators you have used and can recommend will appreciated. Please respond to vardagood@yahoo.com or post here. Thanks.

Hi--we are looking into excursions to for our June trip. One that seems to come very well reviewed here is the sting ray ballet trip on Bora Bora. I'm very interested in one on Raitea (would love to here others' experiences) that takes a 4x4 into the interior and then includes a 2 hour river trip down FP's only navigable river.
