Xcambo/Dzemul vs Merida

Trying to decide between the two. Also, would like to know if it's possible to do Merida if you only have about 3-4 hours to get there and back to the ship. (We're on Carnival, in port 0700-1600) Both tours are around 4 hrs.

You defintely don't need a tour/excursion to explore Merida. Local, modern bus service ROUND TRIP is only $3.00 and well worth doing. There are a number of trip reports right on this page and subsepuent pages. Don't forget to explore http://www.yucatantoday.com

Xcambo = small ruins site. Dzemul's only claim to fame is that it is the present governors home town. Nothing special in Dzemul.

Understand, but if we do a trip to the ruins with the ship, we won't have time to take the bus round trip and get back before the ship leaves. So we have a choice of picking one or the other, or finding a private tour that will do both (Since Carnival doesn't offer a tour that does both)

I have done this with folks and there is simply not enough time to do both, other than a superficial pass through on one or the other or both depending on the ships departure time.
