cwccmark Posted May 4, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2005 I know there are already a couple of great reviews from others who sailed with us last week, so didn't want to be repetitious but still want to contribute and pass on the excitement and overall great vacation this cruise brought us. So, if you have any questions at all regarding the Caribbean Princess, I would love to answer as many questions as possible. I still have the Princess Patters from each day, so that might help also in answering questions. Regarding food, I came close to eating everything off the menu, so I know what I am talking about as far as this area goes (lol). This was our first cruise, and went aboard with high expectations, but my expectations were well exceeded! So fire away any questions.

PrincessMelody Posted May 4, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 4, 2005 We'll be on the CP 9/17 (only sailed HAL before)...and I had a few questions... How is the food in the Caribe Cafe, particularly the seafood? Any not to be missed foods, desserts, drinks, shows, etc? If we want to see the MUTS in the evening, should we make reservations as soon as we board and choose the night, or do you have to wait until the same day you want to go? How is the coffee? What did you think of the casino? Thanks so much!!:D

cruisencouple Posted May 4, 2005 #6 Share Posted May 4, 2005 Glad you had a great time! Which nights were formal nights? The formal nights ar eon Sunday and Thursday. I am also just off the April 23rd cruising and it was my first and I loved it more than I thought I would have. The dessert of choice one night was the pineapple creme brulee it was GREAT!!!!! Also the ice cream with butterscotch was another favorite I got that a few times during the week. I can't saying anything bad it was a great week and our cabin steward Alfonso on the Plaza deck was the best!

What did you think of the casino? Thanks so much!!:D Trinity1, food in the Caribe Cafe was good. It was normally specialty, like chinese one day, sushi, late night they had more snacks, made to order sandwhiches, chips and salsa, pizza, desserts, etc... We were on during passover week, so the caribe featured a night in honor of passover. The seafood nights there were really good. Sailaway the crab legs, shrimp, lobster was cold (but with melted butter, who cares) on Sunday night they had it heated up in the Caribe (I remember cause i had a plate during the MUTS, "Shall We Dance", now that's living life!) Speaking of MUTS, we booked our tickets when we first got on board. There will be a patter in the room, it will show you a schedule of the two movies and what nights and times are offered. There was one night of the Incredibles which I walked by and saw many empty seats, I'm sure I could have just walked up and got in. But just takes about 5 minutes to get through to Customer service and book those tickets. As far as not to miss events, sail away party was a blast, plus just cool to look out as we make our way out of the canal into the ocean. So many people I have read reviews from missed it, because they were in the dining room eating. Skip the dining room that night, hit the seafood buffet. We then ate in the dining room every night after that.Another do not miss event is the champagne tower on the 2nd formal night, the whole party atmosphere was cool. As far as other don't miss foods, desserts were really good. My wife loved the "love boat" dessert (she had one every night) Lobster night (thursday night) was excellent. My waiter asked how I liked the lobster, I said, excellent, before I knew it he had ordered me another plate. The thing about this ship is that there is enough variety of entertainment, to do the things that fit your personality, and the things that you like. We didn't care much for the big shows (at least the first one) a little risqué, but we just left and went dancing instead to the Caribbean Princess orchestra. The International Crew Talent show was really good. Coffee, here is my experienced tip on coffee. The coffee at the buffets in the morning is kind of nasty, I think because it comes out of a fountain type thing, so must be a big vat of it or something, but take the time to go to the atrium lobby bar (on 5th floor) they have two pots of of coffee made up, much better (probably cause they make a smaller portion of it) Hope that helps,

Thanks Chris, I had read a lot of stuff from you and on your web site prior to sailing, you always have a great way of wording stuff, but you inspired me to one particular thing. I want to show you a picture, but what is the best way to show it?
