whitelilly Posted February 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2013 This was our 9th cruise 7th Celebrity cruise. We are early 60s. We have been on several solstice class ships most recently the Silhouette last Feb. (12 days fron NJ). We had a wonderful cruise, however, the Reflection would not be the ship I would return to. We definitely felt the addition of cabins contributed to the the crowding of the public areas...especially the pool and deck areas. There did not appear to be any attempt to control the chair hogs. On our last sea day we were on our morning walk at 7:30 and noticed 4 chairs with rolled towels and hard cover books ( from the ship library). We showered, had breakfast changed into our swim wear and when we came back to the deck area ( a good 1.5 hours later) they were still there untouched. On the sea days we were forced to return to our balcony to get any shade. The dance area on the soltice class ships seems to be shrinking on each ship (the Grand Foyer area is much smaller and they keep adding statues. This ship had blocked some dance area with roping from the stairs) and the Sky Lounge is less then half the size of the other ships). We enjoyed Blu and had very little wait time for breakfast or dinner (8:30 ish). They have compensated here for the additional guests by adding space. We dined one night in Murano and we were delighted by the changes to the menu. The chateaubriand was great! We are Elite level Captains Club members, however, we were never able to utilize the breakfast or the cocktail hour. Times just don't ever work for us. That leaves us with very little perks to enjoy.
