AMA to Africa

Has anyone done an AMA cruise/land tour in Africa? The itinerary sounds wonderful, the boat looks lovely and the additional train ride on one itinerary looks very appealing. While the price seems rather high (considering it does not include airfare), I would be interested in hearing feedback from anyone who has done any of the itineraries in Africa. Thanking you in advance.

I was intrigued by that itinerary too, but on further reflection I have decided that another AMA safari itinerary (Golden Trails of East Africa) is even better. I was going for the train because DW didn't want tents, but now that she understands what the tents are like and that you have to accept that to get near the animals on the Great Migration, we would rather include the Serengeti than the train.

So (not to hijack your thread ...) I would like to see feedback on any AMA safari itinerary.
