Excursion to Uxmal

I will be in Progreso on Feb. 28, 2006. My husband, my daughter and myself want to go to Uxmal but we don't want to book through Carnival. Any suggestions?????

Louisianagirl. Hope this helps. I was at Uxmal in Oct and loved it. Beautiful and very impressive. I took lots of pics. No climbing of the pyramid. Not at all crowded. Did Uxmal while visiting some very small villages for a couple of days in the area. Santa Elana and Ticul. Awesome.

Thanks for the suggestion. The site you directed me to has a higher fee than Carnival. Any suggestion on doing this on our own or hiring someone once we arrive in Progreso?

No suggestion. It can be done on your own with a rental car and the roads are good. Just not sure I would do it on a port call.
