How difficult is it to rent a vehicle in Progresso and drive to the Mayan Ruins? How long would it take? We will be in Progresso from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 13. Thanks

we were hit up by the tour group when we got off the ship. We decided we wanted to go to Dzibichaltun, it was 44 pp on the ship. We got a taxi to take 4 of us for 50, it was 6.00 admission to the ruins, he waited for 2 hours, took us back to the ship. I would not have felt comfortable renting a vehicle there. I believe Chichen Itza is an hour away from the port.

Many cruisers rent a car from Ace Rental, a division of Executive Rental and drive to the ruins. Two hours to Chichen Itza, a little less to Uxmal. Uxmal is more impressive and prettier IMO.
