We went there last year without him obviously, and I had trouble with all the walking. Yes, you can see the first and main temple but to get to everything else you had to climb and go up and down lots of stairs I think we need another choice. Any other ideas?

Most of the ruins do involve quite a bit of walking and climbing. Your best bet might be Dzibilchaltun because it's relatively small, has a cenote for swimming, and a very interesting museum on-site. It's also the closest to Progreso, so less travel time. Read more here: http://www.yucatantoday.com/destinations/eng-dzibilchaltun.htm

On our recent visit to Uxmal there was one person using a cane. He could get around to amost everythign except the last stairs upto the level of the Governors palace.

He did need a hand getting down some of the stairs, but he did enjoy himself. The Pyramid of the Magician is beautiful and totally different with is oval base.

I hope this link works, it is my pictures from 11/10/08.
