Boolsrules Posted December 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2008 Hello, Does anyone have a recommendation of places to eat in Merida? Also, should we get pesos or are USD$ ok? Thanks
hdawson Posted December 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2008 US dollars are fine. A favorite restaurant of mine is Portico El Perigrino on Calle 57 between Calles 60 & 62. Beautiful courtyard restaurant and a special dish for me is Pollo Pobile. Chicken seasoned, wrapped in banana leaves and baked. Excellent, Not real spicey. Very good service and reasonable. YucatanToday Posted December 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2008 We would recommend having pesos - many establishments would take your dollars, but only exchange them for 10 pesos - current exchange is 13 pesos. We do a monthly restaurant review - you might want to check it out and pick a place for yourselves: http://www.yucatantoday.com/culture/eng-rotm-11-08.htm
