  1. They don't really have ballroom type dances on Carnival. Usually they will have a band in the smoke filled casino who will play some rhythm type dances or have some disco or salsa type theme for an hour or so in the smoke filled disco. As far as finding a dance partner, I would say that it is not likely.

Sometimes, they have a latin band on board to play Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue, Bachata.

As far as line dances go, they have the usuals, Electric Slide, Wobble, Cupid Shuffle. Better to learn them pre cruise on youtube.

If she is serious about dancing, take lessons before leaving home and book one of the dance cruises like Stardust. There is a thread about ballroom dancing in the special interests section.

  2. Thanks for sharing ! I was curious as to what they may serve at the meet and greet . Looks wonderful .

We went to the Meet and Mingle on the May 6 sailing. They very nice Hors D'oeuvres (had to look that one up) in addition to the cake and drinks.

I highly recommend attending the event.

  3. I have done both, but find it generally better to be off the ship in the mornings when they are often running drills and tests of some sort.

We have been to Nassau and Cozumel many times, but there is generally some new thing to see or do.

  4. On our cruise in February:

-Sunday, at sea - Formal night

-Monday, Ocho Rios - suggested theme, White

-Tuesday, George Town (and Valentine's Day) - suggested theme, Green-White-Red

-Wednesday, Cozumel - suggested theme 70's-80's

-Thursday, at sea - Formal night

-Friday - Nassau - no suggested theme

The activity staff dressed accordingly and but I can't say I really remember all that many people dressing for the themes. There were Theme Party's on those night at starting at 10:30 or 11:00 but that is after my bed time 😴so I don't know if people dressed for those. On white night there probably was more white but that is an easy one. I wouldn't worry about dressing differently for theme nights unless you really want to.

Thank you, we love the themes.

  5. We stayed at the Langford in late December and had a nice stay. It is newly renovated and the rooms were somewhat small but the renovations were well done. The staff was very good.

It's close to the metromover, which is one of our priorities in downtown Miami.
