  1. Have you tried booking it for yourself, then logging into your husband's account (create it if necessary) and booking it for him? Or calling NCL to get them that way. If you want the passes, it's worth the effort to get them now instead of rushing to get them (and paying more) on board. The advance passes do sell out, so don't wait too long!

I called NCL and they booked it for me but now when I do on to MyNCL it is showing up starting three days into my cruise???

I started a new thread about the issue.

  2. We are cruising on the Epic embarking in Rome on July 6th. There is also embarkation in Marseille on July 9th and in Barcelona on July 10th before we disembark Rome on July 13th. I went to book Thermal Suite passes for my husband and I today and found that it showed all three dates as starting dates but on 7/6 (our first day) I could only book for myself, not DH too.

So I called NCL and she went in and booked for me but when I go on MyNCL now it shows as the Thermal Pass starting on 7/9.

Why would I pay for a week pass that I can only use for half the week?? Has anyone else experienced this? Should I call NCL back?

  3. I am also traveling on the Epic in July and Having trouble booking things online. My trip is 60 days out but when I try and book thermal spa passes, it will only let me book for me and not for me and my husband. Maybe there's an issue wth the site right now??

  4. We are sailing on the Epic in July embarking in Rome which I hear is the less popular embarkation port. I have never been on a cruise where it wasn't the same cruisers for the whole trip. Can anyone speak to how this changes the overall cruise experience? It seems so strange to me!

  5. By the end of the summer Dialysis At Sea will be set up onboard the Breakaway for those that need this medical necessity. This will be a great option for those that are on Dialysis and want the freedom to sail.

That's awesome! My husband had a kidney transplant almost 3 years ago but was on dialysis for 3 years before that. Traveling was difficult, to say the least!

  6. Some role calls get more active than others. For my Tahiti cruise many years ago, we had a very active role call and we all got together onboard and did many excursions and activities together. It was wonderful and we are still friends to this day.

For my upcoming cruise, the role call helped me find out that Elton John was playing a concert in Pompeii the day we were in port and we were able to change around our plans as to avoid congestion in the area due to the concert. I doubt I would have gotten that info without the role call.

It's worth signing on, even if you end up being more of a lurker than anything!

  7. As the a la carte was just implemented, and only on The Escape, no on+e knows for certain. Reports are beginning to trickle in but it will be a couple of weeks at least until we hear how it is actually being applied.

I would wait and read every Escape review that comes in. Keep in mind that some on Escape had the UDP which is different (far more inclusive) than the SDP that you are looking at.

I'm sailing on the Epic in July and a couple of the speciality restaurants are listed as a la carte too?

  8. The only Haven amenity is the access to Haven. All other suite perks are the same even if the suite (categories starting with S) is not a Haven suite (categories starting with H).

I said the MINI suite, which DOES NOT have access to any of the Haven or true suite amenities.

  9. Pearl to Alaska. Just said 750 to 2500 pp h categories were 1500 to 2500pp. Also I an currently in a mini suite not bacolny

Mini suite does not get the Haven treatment that a true suite gets. A suite on Carnival, or most other major lines for that matter, can't compare. The Haven amenities are amazing. You are getting way more than a bigger room.

  10. When we were on RCL for our honeymoon cruise (almost 18 years ago:eek:) there would be someone who would come around the dining room at the end of dinner with this try of these layered shots that you could purchase. They were SO yummy!! Do they have this type of thing available to purchase on NCL?

  11. For me, it's even more important on port-intensive cruises! I would miss a show or go to dinner in the buffet if I had to make a choice in order to go to spa after a day in port. It's a relaxing end to the day. What you should know about me though is that I cruise to relax and get away from the hectic pace of my life and that the ship's entertainment is usually something I can take or leave (though, Priscilla Queen of the Desert on the Epic was pretty amazing).

We saw that show when it toured here in CA, it was awesome:D

  12. I've had a spa pass on both the Jade and the Epic. It's something I hope to do on every future sailing as I found I go to it pretty much every day--love the atmosphere. As bluefish said, you can by it on board but it's more expensive than purchasing it online prior to sailing. On my 10-night Epic cruise it was $179 when prepurchased and $199 after boarding. If you don't buy it the first day and they're still available, they'll prorate the cost of it. Yes, it's valid for the entire cruise.

Is it worth it? Well, that's subjective. For me, very much so. It's especially nice after an active port day. I typically cruise solo and since I started solo cruising I have difficulty justifying a balcony for just me, so the spa balcony on the Epic was a location I spent quite a bit of time. :o

The spa on the Epic was much nicer than the one on the Jade. On the Jade, I mostly used the hot tub, but I liked the set-up on the Epic much better and enjoyed quite a few of the amenities. That said, I would still purchase a spa pass if I were to sail the Jade again.

So would you say it's still worth it on a port heavy cruise? We are on the Epic in the Western Med this summer and only have one sea day. I was wondering if I'd only end up using it that one day!

  13. I made a couple dining reservations at the speciality restaurants for my upcoming cruise on the Epic and I found out I need to make them later so that we can put our kids in the kids program so we can have those 2 quiet dinners:D Problem is, while I see that I have those reservations booked when I look at my vacation summary, I can't see any way to change the time. Will I have to call and do that? Our cabin is in the Haven if that makes any difference.

    Thank you!

  14. We are on the NCL Epic the beginning of July and are in port at Marseille from 7am-4pm. We are hoping to go to Aix and then to the closest are to see the Lavender fields. Most tours that I have found run too long for the time our ship is in port. Is this plan a possibility in our time frame? Can anyone recommend a tour company that can arrange a private tour for us?
