Virtuosa was on the itv morning news today - she looks wonderful... can't wait to get on board a week on Friday
-
I said to my husband that i was disappointed not to see inside, and he said he thought it would a right mess inside, people and stuff everywhere, with all the final fittings still being tweaked

Do you need your membership card from other line? I am platinum on Princess but don't have a physical membership card for it....
no, I just screen grabbed an email i had from RC that had my name, crown and anchor number and status on it and emailed that to them this morning, I got a reply a couple of hours later to say i now have silver voyagers club membership

😭
I just phoned to check if straighteners were allowed, and they are not, but to my surprise taking your own hair dryer is not allowed either... guess that's a pony tail for the cruise for me then as i find the ones in your cabin aren't usually up to much. 🤣

Fantastic! I'm so glad to hear my post encouraged you to do the same as me. I can't take all the credit though because it was thanks to another CC member that I was alerted to the discount. If you've previously been on a P&O cruise, MSC will also do a status match and you will receive a further 5% discount. Were you aware of that? I hope you and your daughter have a wonderful cruise too. Best wishes. Jane.x
Thank you - yes the booking lady told me this, I have crown and anchor so have sent the status department an email (it didn't work on the website - but she said it probably wouldn't!) 🙂 x

it wouldn't work for me on the Queen Victoria in the stateroom - but was fine when guest services tested it for me. hoping it works on MSC Virtuosa

good news about the straighteners, does anyone know if Dyson airwraps work on board - took it on cunard last year and it didn't work in my cabin - worked fine plugged in to a socket in guest services though (i wanted to check it still worked!)

I have booked a Staycation! Thanks to another poster on here (can't remember her CC name but you know who you are Jane), advising me of the NHS discounts MSC were offering, and the fact that MSC are taking children, I decided to bite the bullet. So, I've got an August 7 day cruise in a Suite, with a massive 35% discount for all 3 of us. I'm so thrilled and excited and the girls are already packed!
I know I shouldn't be posting about MSC in the P&O area but you're my friends and I just wanted to let you know. Best wishes all. Jane. X
and thanks to you I've just booked one for myself and my daughter - she's really looking forward to a break after working so hard the last year and the NHS discount is very generous, hope you have a lovely cruise 🙂

I've just applied to match Royal Caribbean Platinum - Hopefully it won't take to long to come through

Hi all,
After three hours on the internet on monday i managed to get a deluxe balcony on Iona - our room is still not allocated, I keep checking! This is our first P and O cruise and we're just looking forward to floating on the ocean, and I'm particularly looking forward to not having to cook!

so i hadn't forgotten my password? It just doesn't work anymore - that's a shame, i found it easier to navigate the boards than using the webpage

Oh yes we had a great time thanks - and I'm happy to say we have just left the ship and are on our way home

We hit rough weather Thursday evening just before Biscay, that lasted until the Solent, about 4am this morning and as a result we lost about 3 hours - crew are working really to hard to keep those of us still on board happy whilst getting ready for new passengers about to start their holiday - realistically I can't see the last of us disembarking much before 1pm ... I'm hoping the storms have cleared for those heading out the other way in a few hours time

Hope you had a lovely holiday
Do the men wear jackets and ties at night
Cheers
i think on the smart casual nights most men wore open neck shirts
i heard the announcement about the extra tax on drinks, but we had the ultimate package and never noticed if it was applied or not

Enjoyed reading that! Thank you :) we were on the same cruise, had a wonderful time, we went with our two 20 something daughters - one of whom became a flow rider addict. We loved the main dining room so much that we cancelled Chopps! Will have to find the periscope app now :)

Thanks all but she's over 18 :)

thanks all, your ideas have helped - hopefully we have it sorted now. :)

HAL gives it out at Front Office. They have it in the Infirmary as well.
Perhaps your cruise line/ship does the same.
I don't know your itinerary but perhaps you could buy it in your first port if you will be out of U.K.
My state requires a prescription but most states in U.S. permit it to be sold over the counter. It is odd that in my state I can buy bonine and other brand names that are mentioned OTC but not the generic meclizine...... at least that was the case the last I checked.
Thank you - it is RCI, and they did give us some freebies last time, so i'm hoping it will be the same again - was just hoping to go prepared and to give her a dose before we get on board
-
typical - the only one i can find on a uk website is Bonine and its out of stock - doh! We're sailing with RCI - is this one they sell in the onboard shop does anyone know? Also will they still hand out the Meclizine at guest services if we ask nicely.
Thank you
-
thanks, I'll search for some of those - the cruise leaves from the UK, so i won't be able to buy any from pharmacies before i go unfortunately. I will have a search under the trade names, thank you
-
:eek:On our last cruise my daughter was really sick until she was given meclizine at guest services - it was wonderful stuff! (we took several uk brands of motion sickness tablets with us, but they were useless)
We are cruising again in a few weeks and i'm trying to get hold of some here in the UK but can't find any. It is available here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008ATM6XC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A2W8OXVV04JT4X but it can't be shipped to us - any ideas?
Many thanks

We stayed in a grand suite - it was great :)
