Anyone gotten Vibe on Encore or Bliss in Alaska and can share their experience? I’m considering it, as I think the hot tubs with that weather and scenery would be so nice, along with the outstanding service. However, I don’t want to be the only one…that would be boring 🤣 nor do I want to make the staff be outside if they don’t have to…unless they staff it regardless. Idk…just a random thought wondering if people have done it before. Otherwise, I’ll probably just get a thermal suite pass. Thanks in advance!

Did you get it? How was it?

Where is your cruise too?  Maybe eat good before you get off and then go somewhere for a small snack that shouldn’t cost too much. Even an appetizer instead of a full meal? You can take prepackaged snacks off. I would pack them so you know you have something you like.I’m a super frugal traveler so I understand. I try to look for places that have deals or happy hours.

Catalina Island. No worries we can eat up before. I’m don’t normally eat until later in the day. But all good. I’ll be sure to bring a few snack bars then. I was going to tell the teens they can get ice cream or a goodie but don’t plan on real food until Ensenada. We need tacos and churros for sure!

     To the Lady Cruisers.

Our 30th Anniversary is May 15th this year

I booked a 10 day Alaska Cruise which departs on May 15th from San Fran the first day it became available on the Carnival Miracle

I have everything booked, Flights , Aft Suite , Shore Excursions , 3 Days in Frisco prior. everything

Bucket Trip of a lifetime, went all out.

My wife has zero Idea, zero.

For Christmas she did get some, clothes, hat etc for some cooler/colder weather, told her that was for a Mountain trip we are doing in February which we are not.

I thought of an early Anniversary card, Waiting Until Valentines day??

Only people who know are our 2 children26 & 25 & me, didn't want it to get back to her..

Please give me ideas and the best one you will get the credit for!

    Thank You !

That's awesome! My husband's favorite thing I ever did was a treasure hunt on one of our first Valentine's day's. I bought a box of those little valentine's card that we use to give each other in elementary school and wrote hints on the cards leading to the next card/hint. At the end there was a giant candy bar or something. I probably made the clues rhyme knowing me. "Roses are red, violets are blue, you might find something in a shoe." He said it was the neatest thing anyone had ever done for him. 🙂

You could just send her from place to place around the house or hand out cards to family/friends so she has to hunt around various locations. I also did a similar thing one year, but each clue was a puzzle. I went to a craft store that could cut a piece of card stock paper into puzzle pieces. Assemble the puzzle for the clue to the next location/person who had another puzzle. Enjoy your trip!

The medical supply provider of my DH's CPAP as well as his doctor (who has A LOT of experience with CPAPs as well as cruises) both told DH that ship's water is absolutely fine for use in his CPAP for a week.  It doesn't damage it at all.  It doesn't even leave any visible residue after a whole week.  This may not be the case for all CPAPs, but it is what the "experts" told DH and it has worked just fine for him for years.  No one was "advising someone to damage their machine".  And there is a reason for the advice the poster gave: to be helpful.  It might be worth it to other CPAP users to check into the possibility of using ship's water in their own devices.  It saves a bit of trouble, not having to lug on or procure distilled water onboard.

If explained it the way you did with a justification then it would make sense. Just saying using tap water is ok is not a good recommendation.

There are far better travel cards than this one. If you are getting a card for rewards, I would definitely look elsewhere.

Correct. Only got it for the statement credit and for my daughter on purchases that won’t take applePay. I use my Chase Reserve for most everything else. I have several other cards that earn varying amounts of rewards on too.

  6. Is it possible to fit it in the checked bag and fit less bulky items in a carry on? You should keep checking for FTTF a couple times a day. Someone may cancel. I know my first cruise I didn't realize that I only had to pay for 1 per cabin. So had to cancel one of them at some point.

Depending on the model,  It may have come with  a travel case that everything packs into.

Mine even has a strap on the back that can fit over the extendable handles on the main luggage or carry-on.  Don't order water from the ship.  The tap water on the ship is just fine for CPAPs.  But do bring an extension cord.  8-10 feet is probably more than enough and can also fit into the bag.

Actually it is not recommended so I don't see why you would recommend this. If you want to use tap water then fine but there is no reason to advise someone to damage their machine.

I've never gotten the stock OBC on carnival, but I only book casino rate rooms (IE only taxes and fees), but always get it on princess, which are also only casino rates.  Go figure!

I'm hoping that I can upgrade my room(s) on a couple of cruises and maybe get the onboard that way.  Oh well, stock has more than paid for itself after all the onboard I've gotten from princess.

This may not be a simple question to answer but how much $ do people have to run through a machine to get those kind of offers? I'm assuming a lot.

Last cruise on Elation, I noticed other's paperwork with a check in time later than mine, in line before us.  I'm growling and DH is saying "it's all good" but it's frustrating when you play by the rules and others (including the port workers) don't.

I'm not saying this was the case but people in a suite can have their immediate family board with them. I'm having our teens board with us as I have a suite.

  10. I think the long earrings would be great with this dress, but you have to pick earrings OR necklace. I would actually pick the earrings because they accentuate the long, slim lines you have going on with your long hair and dress. Skip the necklace with this one and focus on your face and decollete. It seems that is what many red carpet celebrities are doing, too.

With the strapless dress, I'd def. wear the round necklace and smaller earrings.

    You look absolutely gorgeous, BTW.

Good point. Well yet another option. :) thanks!

  11. Just like using a GPS, sometimes you just need to actually look at what's in front of you and disregard what some "expert" is telling you.

If you are wearing an updo I might feel differently about the earrings, but with your hair style, the chandeliers are just too much.

Yeah I hadn't decided but leaning towards no updo. I do think I will have the sides pulled back away from ears and some loose curls.

  12. I prefer the round set as well but I have a question. Is the V-neck dress full length? If so, then I think it could carry the longer necklace and chandelier earrings. If it's cocktail length, then I think the proportions would be way off.

If I were in your quandary, I'd bring both and make my decision when you get dressed for dinner. It's not like they take up a lot of room or weight, and choices are a beautiful thing.

You look stunning in both dresses!

    Yes it's full length.

  13. Hi everyone. Well I did some research and for this v cut dress it says to wear a longer pointed necklace and for strapless a shorter round one. So this is what I came up with. Do you think this is right? I have a pic of each necklace and ear ring with each dress. Also the same bracelet with all. The ear rings with the round necklace are beautiful but of course you can tell In the photo as they are smaller. Thanks!
