https://www.nps.gov/klgo/planyourvisit/shorterdayhikes.htmI know that in skagway there are trails that you can hike. There is one by the old miner cemetery one the edge of town that leads to a water fall. We walked to it or you can take the free trolley.Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

White fang and call of the wild are good. Into the wild was good too. Takes place half in Alaska and half in lower 48

We went on the White Pass Summit Rail & Bus Excursion last time we were there. I don't know that I would want to be on the train both ways. I would take the bus one way and the train back if that is an option. We liked the shorter trip we could explore the area around Skagway and the town itself. I think the Bennet lake would be fun to see.

We have those masks also. They are great. My husband would especially have issues with regular masks with a goatee and the mask would not seal on his face and would get so much water in his mask. They are great. There are a wide range of prices. Got ours on Amazon middle of the road prices of about $75. Well worth the investment
I have the same problem but my kids really have a problem. I'll have to look into this.

Nice video. I saw you have those new full face snorkel masks. What do you think of them? Are they worth it?

I don't know which port it is but I see horizons listed for breakfast. That is where I'll be going next week.
thanks

Yes in the past we generally go to the sit down breakfast. Kicker is that you have to be there by 9am. The brunch goes to 1pm

We have two younger kids so we don't stay out that late.
I'm probably in bed before the adult show starts. Strange part, I'm a sleep earlier on a cruise than when I'm at home.

Sounds like most of the lines can be avoided by eating breakfast in the dining room or going at non peak times.

Did the Escape last October. We liked it. I don't know I could say which is better NCL or Carnival but I don't get caught up in the the dislikes. I did like the dinning better because we could make reservations for dinner at different times and there was live music in the Manhattan room. The reservations for the shows were nice because you know it will not be over capacity. Did not like the games/trivia being in the atrium. To small of a venue.

here is the link to the carnival site. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3439
here is the paragraph that got me thinking
Since most tables are configured for parties up to 6 guests and many cannot be moved together to make larger tables, parties greater than 8 guests may need to be accommodated at several tables and the wait can sometimes be more than one hour. We highly suggest that parties of 8 or more guests choose the traditional assigned seating (6:00pm or 8:15pm) to assure sitting together at one table or several tables close together.
Thanks to the posts above and the other searches I did I will be there when it opens. From the doc it says they open at 5:45pm
Kicker is that if we do get assigned times we may miss dinner. Two of the ports that we go to we leave at 8pm.

We are going on the Vista for the spring break cruise in two weeks. We have Your time dining and I was just reading Carnival's website that says a that parties of 8 or more use the traditional dining times.
Has anyone had experience with YTD and large parties? Long wait times.?
I have contacted my TA to see if she can change it.
thanks

what time was your boarding time? curious to see if they let you on before your boarding time.

Thanks for the great responses. We will book the reservations separately and then stop by the restaurant the day of and have them put the reservations together. Thanks

We 3 groups going on our cruise and we were going to book a specialty restaurant. When I go online it asks how many is in our party. If I say the total of the 3 groups it wants to charge me for all the people. If I have all 3 groups book can we get at the same table?
How does this work.?
thanks

Silly question, Does the specialty dinning include sodas? I'm guessing not.
-
If they backuped up the time you got on board people would have a problem.
I don't mind sitting in port as long as I'm on the ship.
I would think for shop and casino revenue they would want to her out asap.

Our cruise is in October on the Escape and they moved the all aboard time from 4pm to 7pm. On all of our previous cruises we always left at 4pm. So what time will they let us get on board?
thanks
