Voyager has the Dreamworks characters but Explorer doesn't.

Not if you live in Perth they aren't, few and far between, grumble grumble
Ovation's cruise has a segmented option so some will disembark in Fremantle and we will get on for the second leg to Sydney

Beware the after treatment sales pitch. This can be as expensive or more than the original treatment. I had a wonderful facial once but the relaxed feel was ruined by the pitch.

We just stayed in 1882 on Voyager of the seas. Our first time on deck 12. Loved the location. Loved the decor. Didn't notice any increased ship movement. We did the South Pacific & Fiji out of Sydney. The only noise we had was on port days people would go up on the top deck to view and we heard footsteps. Also there was a late night party in the solarium and somebody propped the corridor door open which allowed quite loud music to filter into the cabin. I just un-propped the door and it was all ok. Would book these again. The cabin next door (1884) had a loud speaker on their balcony that public addresses came through. They found it a little annoying.

Royal hasn't been charging corkage in the MDR or Specialty Restaurants for quite some time. We are on board the Radiance now and it is still the case.
Cheers
Di
We are on Voyager now having been to the South Pacific & Fiji. We have taken our own wine to the dining room and no corkage fee.

We just learned my husband has to be at a mandatory meeting 2 days before our cruise ends...does anyone have any experience with disembarking from a port mid-cruise and not returning? My son and I would continue on, but he would fly home. I have a message out to my TA but don't anticipate hearing from her until Monday and we are really anxious about what to do. We are on Harmony of the Seas Jan. 14 so way past paid in full.

We left a ship 4 days before the end of a 17 day cruise as my husband felt so ill with a chest infection and the ship was full of respiratory illness. We approached guest services at midnight before entering Adelaide the next morning to say we needed to get off. They were very helpful and said to ring as soon as our cases were packed. I meanwhile was on the internet booking flights with Qantas. We even got awarded our C & A points for the whole cruise.

Hi all just back from not going to lifou on E ots we were refunded usd $22;50 p/p about au$ 60  surprise  also $100 obc NOT THE SAME AS GOING TO A ISLAND for your Birthday
We are currently on Voyager heading back from Fiji later today. We have our $100 obc but no notification of port taxes. Will that happen with final account?
-
hi all
What is the rate of au$ to obc us$ on Explorer ots , sailing on 29 november thanks
Trouble
I asked the same question on the RCI section. Was told it is currently AUD $1.0 to USD $0.76
-
Thanks. Couldn't decide whether to pre buy some USD for our onboard account or just let it go to the credit card and convert after the cruise. We got a great deal a few years ago when RCI was offering parity but it was USD 0.85 to AUD 1.0 in the general market.
-
Anybody know the current conversion from AUD TO USD on RCI to buy obc?
Thanks

I have just checked our itinerary (29th November) and sure enough Lifou has been removed and replaced with another sea day. I haven't heard anything from Royal Caribbean yet but I certainly hope that they have some alternative in mind. :(
We are also on Voyager 29th Nov and received an email today re Lifou being dropped and giving us US100 obc to compensate. Have never been to the pacific islands so don't know if we have missed out on a good stop?

We had Bali (Benoa) as our last stop in May. Pacific Eden 12 nights from Fremantle. We were unable to tender due to the swell. It was a beautiful day and there was no chop, just a rolling swell. They took 30 mins to load one tender which set off to Benoa harbour but it was called back when the Captain decided it was too dangerous. The ships company had hired 2 local boats including the Bali Hai to help the tenders but even they couldn't manage it. We stayed in the bay whilst our passports were stamped (the immigration officers managed to get on & off ok!) and then sailed away. Not a happy ship. A lot of people had saved their shopping for Bali.

Hi Clare, We enjoyed Eden very much and used the pool areas for 80% of the time. The main pool area has a retractable roof so can be closed if the weather is cool or raining. We had one rainy day on our way back but the captain warned us of any approaching showers. The back pool area we used on our way back as the lack of shade was better in the cooler temperatures. Beware of saving all your shopping for Bali as we were unable to go ashore as the swell made tendering dangerous. We sat in the bay until about 10 am then sailed away. Not a happy ship but safety first. The first night was Back to School, Bianco approx night 5/6 with Gatsby night 10.

We just came off Eden from a 12 night Indonesian cruise. They don't have formal nights as such but theme nights: White night (Bianco), Gatsby & Back to school. Most other nights were smart casual with perhaps one cocktail night.

If this spoils your outlook and attitude on life, your in for a long dissapointing journey, get over it move on and grow up....:rolleyes:
Thats a bit nasty. We all react differently and have a right to be disappointed.

I emailed them and you can, but you have to do it over the phone: 132494 or via live chat and only up to 7 days prior to sailing. It won't show on cruise control but will be added to your cruise account on checking in.

Great. Hope P&O get the message and don't charge us!

Announced tonight on Channel 7 Perth news that Indonesia has finally delivered on Australia being added to the visa free list. I wonder how long it will take to implement? We are sailing on Pacific Eden to Indonesia in May but had emails last week about our shipboard account being charged for an entry visa.

We are in 1882 on Voyager in Nov. so would be very interested too.
Thanks ☺

We have just put a hold on a 30 Nov16 Voyager OTS cruise to a lot of these destinations. Thank you so much for the detailed info. Will be our first time to the South Pacific islands.

Agree don't know why you can't get a decent cup of coffee on most cruise ships, Oceania is the only one I have cruised on that does a decent coffee they have trained baristas on board, recently on HAL the coffee was shocking even Explorer lounge where we paid around $5 a cup. Even went looking for coffee bags in Italy, so we could have at least one decent cup a day. Anyone with thoughts re upcoming VOS cruise, should I bring coffee bags? Also does anyone know if they have peppermint tea bags on board, or should I bring my own. Had to resort to buying peppermint tea bags for my cruise on HAL as they only had green tea with mint. Thanks guys.
We were on VOS in March and they had peppermint tea bags but not in great supply. Struggled to find some in the Windjammer but ok in the promenade cafe.

Thanks for the review & pics Tom. We will be on her Singapore to Perth 3rd Nov. Have done Voyager x 2 and Mariner x 1 so will feel like home. Glad the kettles will stay. Love my early coffee on the balcony. Hope the haze over Asia lessens before we go. 😎

I think it is pretty easy to work out they mean Explorer of the seas. The electrical outlets will be the same as all Royal Caribbean ships: US 2 pin (flat) 110v and European 2 pin (round) 240v. Voyager of the Seas (sister ship) was the same pre & post her refurbishment.
