  1. BamaLady, just off Sunshine last Sunday. We were in balcony cabin 7277 and kids had interior 7279. I just about froze! Had to sleep with blankets.

I am planning my first cruise review about the Sunshine. Hope to get to it this weekend.

  2. Last October, we were to cruise Eastern Caribbean on the Conquest. As we were boarding, you were handed a sheet of paper, a weather report. Right after muster, but before leaving port, the captain announced overhead a change in plans. Hurricane Gonzalo had formed and we had our ports changed to Western. Not one scheduled port. Ended up in Costa Maya, Cozumel, Roatan, & Belize. Lots of VERY unhappy cruisers. We had never been to these ports, so we were ok with the change.

  3. Google "carnival fare viewer", you can also search for "fare viewer" on the carnival website. You then plug in ship, type of cabin, date of sailing, and how many people in cabin. You have to prove your not a robot, entering code provided. It brings up prices according to cabin, 8C for example. You can see what the price is and then fill out a price adjustment form on the Carnival website. I usually hear from them by email within a couple of hours.

  4. We have been on Conquest and Freedom, spa deck balcony. There is no roof to these balconies which some people do not like. it did not bother us and the stars at night are unbelievable. Nice and dark up there on the 11th deck. You could recline in your chair and just look straight up.

  5. I was mostly interested in what someone who had stayed in these cabins thought. Any noise, much movement, etc? This will be our third cruise. The other two were spa deck 11, forward. We loved deck 11, but this time, traveling with family and wanted to be near them.

  6. We were on Freedom last October, spa deck 1115. We loved it! Very few cabins on this deck, so very quiet. No one running down hallway. We liked not having the roof on the deck. Would sit outside at night, lean back in the chair and look up at stars. We are going on Conquest next, staying spa deck again.

  7. Our first cruise was Norwegian MS Southward, 23 yrs ago. We had a tiny cabin with a double bed and a porthole. Still have the receipt - cabin C210 for 4 days was $1512.50. Now, Our family of four can travel in a balcony cabin for 7 days for almost the same. Things have changed, some good, some not so good. No more midnight buffets - have pictures of the ice sculptures and tables of desserts! But, still very much a great value. Even with flights, this next trip is less than a week at Disney World. Love cruising!

  8. We were in 1115, Freedom. We loved our spa deck balcony! Very few cabins so almost no traffic in the hallway. The balcony door is a slider with a floor to ceiling window. There is no cover over it, but we only once heard and saw people above us looking down. That was leaving a port after people were running to catch the ship! Everyone was giving them a hard time! You can relax back in the chairs and look straight up at the stars at night. We are going Conquet this October, booked a balcony and upgraded when a spa deck room came available.

  9. We're on Freedom last October, decorated Halloween theme. You can get items at the dollar tree, so if someone steals them, it's no big deal. Going on Conquest this October, haven't decided the theme. It does seem as though there is little participation. We were on spa deck and the only ones to decorate.

  10. We were on Freedom last October and used Captain Marvin's. We had a great time. They had a photographer that made pictures of your family (extra cost), but they also held the stingray for you to make your own pictures. The guide with us, jumped off the boat suddenly, while we were cruising back to dock, to bring up starfish for the kids to hold. Very friendly and went the extra mile. After we returned to the office area, each person was allowed one phone call back to the states to let your family know you were ok. We would definitely use them again.:)

  11. :)We were on Freedom last October, spa deck, 1115. The spa deck balcony rooms do have sliding doors. The spa deck balcony rooms were not originally balcony rooms, they were ocean view with floor to ceiling windows. With the changes, they are still floor to ceiling windows with a slider, but no cover on the balcony. This suited us fine. You could lie on your balcony at night and look straight up at the stars. It was beautiful! Going again this October, but on Conquest, spa balcony.
