  1. We have been issued or flights to malta for our cruise in October. We dont land until 18.40 which means getting late on the ship.

Has anyone had any success in  changing the flights through P & O to earlier in the day or maybe even the day before?

    Thanks

Don't quite understand how you think the drink is free, youv'e already paid way over the odds for them?

Why do you say paid over the odds? Some people will find the drinks package financially beneficial and reduce their overall spending on all drinks on a cruise.

  3. Hi

We are sailing on Navigator on 28 Oct. Does anyone know if passengers still actually dress up for formal nights? Every other Cruise we have done has been dinner suits etc., but my sister recently returned from Celebrity Millenium and said absolutely no one got dressed up, even on the formal night. The most was a smattering of shirts and ties...not even a sports jacket in sight! It seems Celebrity don't 'do' formal anymore.

Anyone know if Navigator is the same, or how I can find out? Don't want to take stuff I won't use...although it's a shame if that is the case, we loved an excuse to dress up!

    Cheers

On the same cruise and all of us will be dressing up! Sign up to our roll call loads of info on there.

  4. Hi everyone. Going on navigator on 28 October. We are in cabin 8334. Anyone been in this cabin or been on recently that can give me some advice and comments about the ship?

Keep reading bad reports and really hope that we have a good time as its my 50th birthday while on board. Many thanks all

This is the email I received

Thank you for contacting the executive offices of Royal Caribbean International. We are in receipt of your correspondence to Mr. Bayley and I am pleased to respond on his behalf.

I am sorry to learn of your displeasure with the recent changes to our beverage packages. We have reviewed your correspondence and can confirm we are still honoring the Select package onboard for guests who have already purchased it or have it as part of the promotion booked. Guests with the Select package will have the opportunity onboard to upgrade to the Deluxe package at the special rate of $10 per person per day plus 18% gratuities.

  7. QUESTIONS ANSWERED RE COSTS TO UPGRADE TO NEW RCI DRINKS PACKAGES FROM SELECT PACKAGE :

There's been lots of chat about the new drinks packages and what the options are for those currently booked to cruise with a Select package thrown in for 'free' - here are the confirmed details from RCI about our upgrade options - first email is confirmation on the costs (looks like they'll put us on Deluxe) and 2nd email explains that we pay 18% gratuity on the total cost to upgrade - not a gratuity per drink

If a guest has the All Inclusive promotion with the Select package, they will only be able to upgrade onboard for approx. $15pp plus grats. If a guest has pre-purchased the Select package and would like to change to the Deluxe package, they can contact our call centre to have the Select package cancelled/refunded and the Deluxe package booked under the new price.

    I hope this helps!

    Kind regards,

    Explanation re gratuities :

    Dear Gillian,

To clarify, on any purchase at the bar there will be a Bar Service Charge which is 18% usually.

If you upgrade your package to the Premium if the rate is $15 per day then you would be charged $15 per day plus the bar service charge.

So as long as it is $15 a day and the drinks service charge is 18% on a 13 Night Cruise you would pay:-

$15 x 13 nights = $195 per guest for upgrade plus 18% ‘bar service charge of $35.10 so in effect the upgrade would be $230.10.

Different answers from different people at royal. Yours does seem to be the most detailed and precise one.

  8. Thats funny, I got this:

    Dear Mr ******

Thank you for your email. I hope this day finds you well.

Thank you for your email regarding our new Drinks Package.

For your reference, we have made this change due to guest's feedback.

Therefore it is not our intention for you to feel that you have been

penalized or affected your holiday by having you to pay for a higher

upgrade amount. This decision has been reviewed carefully and the prices

    have been set accordingly.

You will still be able to upgrade your package onboard. At the moment and

in accordance to the prices, we estimate that the upgrade fees would be in

between $15.00 - $20.00 per day. Kindly note: This price may still vary

    upon sailing.

I hope this information is helpful and thank you for your understanding and

    patience in this matter.

We look forward to welcome you on board.

If there is anything else we can help you with, please feel free to contact

    us.

    Best Regards

    Yours Sincerely,

So, a big difference in the upgrade cost from the same person.

Lol!! Unbelievable. If royal don't know we don't stand a chance!

  9. Being in the US I am not aware of the deal you gat.

If RCCL gave you a perk (Standard Beverage Package at no Cost) and told you that:

    1. You cannot upgrade this package or purchase a different one at any point until you are on board, and

    2. The upgrade price to Premium would only be $10-$15/day.

I can see your point, as it seems like they HAVE broken their word.

This Baloney of bookings from different countries is and has always been confusing.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    bosco

    Spot on.

    Exactly what happened.

I think the difference in price should be given in the form of OBC so we do not have any extra costs.
