Hi Everyone
What about Portscule Lines Funchal sailing from Newcastle (NSW) to Portsmouth . and not costing a fortune ???
A classic ship ...
But dreaming a little .. Lisbon to Rio on a special smaller ship .. 20-30000 tonner with about 400 on board , and NO cruise director
No kids no smoking .....
Yep dream on ...
Regards
John
we were very close to booking the ocean princess for her TA in Dec this year..... small ship, sounded lovely. We ended up not being able to have Chrissy off so changed to our X trip instead :) Glad now we are on a bigger ship for a TA.

Great idea for a thread. I will be constantly looking here.
At the moment for a senior X website shows me $247 plus taxes plus tips.
Thanks. Great to see the bargains, but upsetting as I have booked us up for Oct/Nov this year, plus the biggie Nov 2015 so we have very little vacation time left, let alone the dollars to spend!

I'm not convinced that giraffe spots in place of tiger stripes are an improvement. LOL.
Niki, my tiger stripy cat, says he prefers stripes :D
;) that's 'caused you haven't cruised yet oz, only after the enlightenment will you know the benefits of splotches over stripes!!:D:p bwahhhhhh!
-
Tell him to take a chill pill ;)
Dreams are free and don't take much real time :D
:D unfortunately he knows me too well, I book the cruises then "we have to take them or we'll lose our deposit"
-
BTW, my tigers stripes have dulled down to a mottled giraffe spotty hue now, so getting happier with the sukin product ;)

My husband wants to report this thread as "inappropriate & offensive"
He is moaning than my constant, "OMG they want to go on a _insert cruise that someone has posted here_ that looks soooo good, honey we so need to do this cruise too, when can we go??" Is very annoying and inappropriate! Plus he reckons my researching and constant cruise proposals are offensive to our bank balance :D
But keep posting, I live to read about everyone's cruise wish list!
-
I still don't get it!
So oldies have right to cruise, but not if they are "infiltrating" cruise lines??
Or is that "infiltrating" Carnival??
Or is it no more than 50% can "infiltrate" on the one cruise?
Can the other 50% just cruise with the rest of us? Or do they need to commit to a per day spend??
What if they "infiltrate" a spring break cruise in the US? Will they be sent home?? How about a holiday cruise here in Aus??
Do they need to be accompanied by youngsters who off set their age to average it down lower?? How about that X cruise that had 700 kids on board?? Now all the oldies should have been herded up and made to go n complete nan n pop duties whilst the feral parents spent up at the bars and casinos 'cause that is the only thing that cruise companies want their pax to do!! :D
Seriously OP, I don't get your rant!

Just did a quick check.
It has completely gone from the site I found the price on and almost doubled on another. You have to be quick or they go when these great prices show up.
Maybe we are at different sites?
I am still able to see inside gty 1294 & 1921 balcony.
:)

Great deal at the moment on one of the Oz cruise sites.
22 Sept on the Radiance - 18 day cruise Hawaii to Sydney from $1294 inside and $1921 for a balcony.
Be quick I would say.
It is still showing for that!
-

Lrg interior $1070.
As I post!
-
Sigh...... Same here re other commitments!

Hmmm! I think I'll stick to the occasional spray tan ;)
Until you START cruising, then can graduate to a rub in tan :D :p bwahhhhhh!

Yup Flipper. #3. Is the monster I was referring to. Nothing gets done without a firm handshake. not what I think tipping is.

From today the FAA has banned US airlines from flying over Iraq.

Thanks for this update.

Thanks for the support, Cruise_me_Crazy.
Yes, fake tans from creams are quite different from spray tans. I've never used a cream tan, I'm always worried I'd apply it unevenly and end up looking weird. ;)
Spray tans take time to develop although the solution also contains a bronzer that gives you instant colour, although I suspect it's there more so the operator knows where they have sprayed. The bronzer washes off during the first shower after the spray tan. However while it's on your body it gets on everything that you touch or brush against so you need to wear clothing that is loose and covering. It doesn't stain permanently though.
So with a spray tan you have to allow time for it to develop and you can't swim, exercise or do anything that will make you sweaty, while it is developing, otherwise you will get streaks and splotches. I experienced this when I had a spray tan on a very hot day earlier this year. Despite doing my best to stay cool I did get a bit sweaty in parts with interesting results. Luckily those parts were parts that were covered by my swimsuit so it didn't bother me.
Some spray tans take 8+ hours to develop fully. There are express tans that take 2-4 hours though. I wouldn't want to waste time on a cruise hanging around waiting for a tan to develop.
I will try to report back about the effects of cruising on spray tans after my cruise :D
Oz, I wonder if they offer an advanced diploma in spray tanning with a pre requisite of having cruised prior to gaining your award?? All good here!
I know what you mean with the streaky issues. I have just changed brands, and I have a delightful tiger effect going on today!! :o. I have traditionally used Avon's fake tan and love it. Very very forgiving. I don't exfoliate or anything with it, and doesn't smell too bad!
My new brand is Sukin, which is a hippie friendly, vegan loving, oragutan caring Aussie brand! I love their skin care n hair care, but will need more practice before I venture out in my bathing suit!! :) At least it's not orange like the orangs I guess!!

We are on a 380 outta Bris. It is not going to LA though! :)
-
??
:) just me being shocked at the price! No biggie! Hope you gave a blast! If you don't do it for your 60th you never will! Enjoy it. I will be keen to hear your thoughts!
-
Sarah - I will keep looking, it is fun. You always learn something, and then when you see a bargain you feel more confident as you know what things usually cost. I enjoy checking out ones that you post on here. Good practice.
Cruise me Crazy - Our biggest problem is we both look and then we find things and want to go on! Same as you, "it is a good deal" then "we just can't right now!" Then we book some, and then work out that we can't pull it off and have to cancel some. Hahaha.
Probably wouldn't enjoy it as much if it wasn't a challenge to get on the ship!
I hear you. Was looking for price drops for this Nov TA, and stumbled across the 2015 booking!! so much for saving dollars on a price drop!
-
You can't stop looking. Cause one time, it will be the time you can go and you didn't looked and you missed it. :D
 yes that has happened so many times!!
-
She saw it and I have already reaped the benefits.
Bwahhhhhhh! :D consummate public servant ;) working smarter NOT Harding!!
-
I just use my own fake tan. Top up every 2nd day when on the ship, after my morning shower.
In ozkiwijj's defence, I have only cruised 1x and used my fake tan extensively on that cruise. My knowledge of fake tanning did NOT increase exponentially after my cruise, so I can only assume that oz's knowledge of spray tans will stay consistent after their first cruise i.e. at their current pre-cruise level! ;)
I am however, talking about fake tan out of a tube that you rub in by hand, which is different to spray tanning. This may mean that spray tanning knowledge may be impacted by cruising journeys. Mine didn't. I'm still clueless about spray tanning and I've cruised so don't hold your breathe anyone!!!:p

..... for our Meet and Mingle party. We don't have very many people on our Roll Call. So I was wondering if there is anyone here on this board who is cruising on Rhapsody of the Seas on 28th Oct. 2014? If so, would you like to join us on the roll call and our Meet and Mingle? The more the merrier!:D
Teri
Are there any other ways to connect to cruisers?? Other sites that may exist?? Maybe google will be your friend here... ;)

Dear Dancinman66,
I don't want to steal this thread, and I don't mean to be rude, but has anybody else told you that your little crab looks like John Howard did when he wanted more tax? It's not a self-portrait is it? Tell me it's not John Howard, PLEASE
Look at his face, and his little claw hands just waiting for our money...........:D:)
Love,
ratacake
Bwahhhhhhhhhhh :D you haven't stolen this thread, YOU OWN IT! :D OMG! More gold! What is everyone on tonight!!?;)

What ship are you on?
There is a city glider that zips about the city, but not really what I would recommend.
here is a link to translink, that runs the public transport in Brissy. This includes, buses, trains and the ferrys (river cats etc)

I live in brissy, happy to help with any suggestions.
