  1. Thanks Bird. If anyone would know I knew it would be you. Kind of disappointed with the up sale cost. That I didn't get at all from the things I have read.
  2. Prima past passengers. On the menu in the main dining room there is an unnamed "special" dish that changes each night. I have heard it can be a dish from one of the specialty restaurants but I have never heard what food is available. Does anyone know what food dishes are available if you choose the special?
  3. Thanks. We went on a NCL Alaska cruise in June and the cruise critic roll call board never really got going at all. Not sure why it was so dead. Maybe because of covid. The ship was really only half full so there were fewer people to join in. I hope we do better this time.
  4. Just yesterday I was able to add an air deviation, going 1 day early into Southampton, England. There was no problem. Cost stayed the same for air plus they gave me a credit of $25.
  5. I forgot to add there are only 13 guests on the boat. You will have to great time. By the way Casey said overcast, cooler weather is the best days to go so don't be discouraged if it isn't a bright sunny day. Something about the spout staying visable for a longer time. Spouts are usually what you spot first.
  6. Just a week ago we had the pleasure of taking a private tour at Icy Strait Point put on by Glacier Wind Charters. It was a most excellent adventure. Pick up from the tour pickup area was simple. We drove for 10 minutes, right onto the dock to board the boat which by this time was just steps away. Almost brand new. Casey is the captain. Young but very knowledgeable with an advanced degree in fisheries. Inside cabin will keep you warm and has snacks, hot chocolate and water. Outside you can walk around the entire perimeter of the boat to get any angle you want for pictures. We saw whales up close. Also sea lions showing off near the whales and a sea otter eating a star fish while holding it on his belly. We also saw porpoises, seals and harbor seals. On land we could see a moose with a calf and on another insland we saw 2 bears. Quite and exciting trip and I highly recommend them. You will see the difference when you are on the water. The cruise line tour is on a double decker boat loaded with people and even getting to the rail was hard, getting a picture from the rail almost impossible.
  7. Those of you who spent most of the day in Icy Strait Point did you notice the zipline in operation in the afternoon as well as the morning? We are on NCL at the end of the month and want to do it but they are only offering early morning times and we have a private excursion planned then. Just wondering if more spots will open up through the cruise line once we are onboard? Or if there is a place to buy tickets on land? Or maybe they just don't operate it all day. Any help would be appreciated.
  8. Not always true. Our group of 10 already had seats assigned when we received the confirmation. Alaska Airlines one way and Delta the other. I did go into the respective airlines websites and make a few changes without any trouble or cost. One couple upgraded to Premier Class on Alaska and paid $21 per person one way. Again, no problem at all. One persons experience doesn't always mean everyone else will have the same.
