Wonderful review, thank you. You also reminded me of the name of the bakery in St. Maureen. So refreshing to read a review that doesn't bash what you've just spent a far amount of money on. Thanks!

The last time I sailed on the Oasis (2 years ago) the Rising Tide Bar went up and stayed up during the entire show that was going on in the Promenade. It was great!

Ok, so I'm a little confused our cruise departs April 30, will our gratuities increase as well?
Thanks for any info.

I bring several 2 gallon plastic zip bags to put my wet bathing suit in if I change into dry clothes on the excursions. I also bring a highlighter to mark off items of interest in the ships daily newspaper. Have a great cruise!

We are just back from Quebec Carnivale so had to wade through all the winter clothing, get that packed up and unpack the summer clothing. Did that about 2weeks ago. The dining room table is our staging area (I'm not cooking for Easter!) so everything is out and now covered with a sheet so the cat doesn't leave his fur on everything. DH has a pile, I have a pile and then there is the ....mmm do I really need to take that pile. I'll whittle it down this weekend and be ready to pack the day before. So excited for this trip!:)

Thank you for your review. It is good to hear about the drink card.

We use a TA because we like to go into Florida from Maine a couple days early, she put together a great package for us from RCCL. VIP boarding, champagne in the room, 2 dinners in a specialty restaurant and an OBC. Our friends who book through RCCL did not receive any of the perks. They booked the next day after us, still got the BOGO but no other perks. I will go with a TA ever time. Oh and our flights have one connection but it makes no difference to us as we have entry of time.

Could you please explain this in layperson's English?
That sounds very nice, but couldn't she use liquid soap?

Also do not forget magnetic chip "like" clips for all those invitations or excursion tickets that can be posted on the wall and off the table tops. Best thing ever since the walls are metal under that wall paper.
Also, two strong magnets with hooks and a length of light rope to use as a clothesline to dry bathing suits. Works great!

We use one even for trips when we aren't cruising! I'd have stuff all over the place to pick up from my loving DH just absentmindedly putting stuff down. Mine is light, 8 pockets and washable. Love it!

We will use lanyards. It is easy, convenient and my DH won't loose it that way! We do put them inside our backpacks when we are on excursions but I think the backpack is a sure giveaway that we are tourists....don't you??
What ever works for everyone doesn't necessarily work for everyone!
Have fun cruising.

Thanks for a really great review. You've given me a couple of ideas for the excursion in St. Thomas.

Very nice review. Would you have a copy of the Compass you could share with us?:)

Wallet: I always have a mini-wallet that I use for travel that in this case would have ID, room key, and a little cash for tips and such.
Even if I decide to leave the wallet in the room, I still need a room key and am likely to bring my phone (which doubles as an e-book and camera on vacation).
And, of course, I think the biggest reason why I'd consider this would be for shore excursions. May not always have something to lock it to, but would still feel better having that stuff (plus the necessary passport) locked up.
I have always been on the impression that passports should be left on the ship, just carry your photo ID (driver's license). Everything else I leave in the room safe.

This has probably been covered a hundred times, but I am not able to find this topic.
DH likes his beer and I enjoy an occasional cocktail. That being said, could be share one drink package? What is the average cost of a cocktail, say a Southern Comfort Manhattan?
Thanks for all your input and answers.:)

I contacted 3/15/14 RCCL and they said no water could be brought on board.
Kinda dumb I think but oh well.

Really, your all pissed that someone is wishing you well???
Think about it, your all looking for an upgrade, if you really need to be upgraded, pay for it!
IMHO

Do you know how far in advance the shows can be booked?
We sale in May and I started booking excursions and shows in January.

why on earth are you wasting time here, on a message board, when you have only 4 days till you sail? Do it today. Today is your last day.
Go here, now:

Hello All:
I have had no trouble securing excursion reservations for Nassau, and St. Thomas but St. Marteen is another questions altogether.
In looking at the excursion booklet on the RCCL website, they are offering in St. Marteen an excursion called "St. Marteen Sensation & Beach Break with Lunch" (SM25)
I attempt to find it on the My Cruise section under excursions and it isn't there?
I've called RCCL and gotten 3 different answers, 1.) Not available 2.) Wait until April 3.) Don't know.
Has anyone else tried to book this excursion and if so could you tell me how? Thanks.
Pros/Cons of using TA
in Ask a Cruise Question
Posted
Definitely use a TA!
We leave on 4/30 for our Oasis of the Seas cruise and we are travelling with another couple. We used a TA and they didn't. Differences, many.
While working with our TA along with great service we also got a dinner for 2 at one of the specialty restaurants, VIP check-in, champagne us greeting in our room. And her experience when booking excursions and which ones to stay away from.
Our friends got none of the above and they booked directly through the cruise line.
My last cruise, we had difficulty with the airline and seating/no seating and the TA got me another ticket to be used at another time. Great service!
Just a few thoughts, but I'll always go with a TA
