  1. Hello Everyone:

I am attempting to schedule an excursion in May for St. Maarten - the RCCL excursion booklet has an excursion SM25 but the website doesn't show it, so I can only assume that it's not being offered any more.

We are looking for a tour that will show us both sides of the island with shopping time available. We figure that by that point in the week, we may be "sunned" out and seeing the island and shopping on both sides sounds like a perfectly great way to spend the day. Do any of the CC members have any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance! :)

  3. I have reservations at a Best Western $116 per night that has a shuttle to the port. The reservations that I have are in May which may be a little bit on their shoulder season but we alway try to stay with a Best Western, never been disappointed.:)

  4. I've probably put this onto the wrong board however, please bear with me, first time cruiser here.

I heard that the MDR has different specialty meals on different nights. Could someone on these boards be more specific or does anyone actually remember what those special nights were? I'm trying to plan where to eat, the MDR or one of the specialty restaurants. If the MDR is having lobster night (just an example) I don't want to be at Chops having something else.

    Thanks to all!

  5. The single most useful item I've taken on cruises with me was an over-the-door clear pocket shoe storage bag. I hang it over the bathroom door and store all of our toiletries in it.

I too have used the over-the-door clear pocket storage bag on several other vacations, Disney etc. and they work great! Definately packing one of these!!

Thanks for all the tips, really enjoying the boards.

  6. Traveling on FOS Western Caribbean - wondering - do prescriptions have to be in original bottles? What about OTC meds (ibuprofen, Coldcalm, Sudafed, Benadryl, etc.) I have of those great pill boxes for the week and was going to put my vitamins and prescription meds in, but then I wondered if I need to have the actual prescription bottle with me. Anyone know the rules??

I also print out what the pill boxes have in them - dosage, etc. and scotch tape it to the bottom of the pill box. Works great and I've never been questioned. Have a wonderful cruise!

  7. I know the RCCL rules re: bringing wine aboard, but we are flying this time and my DH refuses to take a carryon, even though I am. Try as I might, can't convince him how much less we would have to put in checked luggage.

So....what is your experience if you put both allowed bottles of wine into 1 carry on?

I was of the understanding that you couldn't bring any type of liquor/wine on board. Has that changed?

  8. This may be a silly question - but my birth certificate shows my maiden name and my drivers license has my married name. Do I also need to take my marriage certificate?

    Thanks for any insight!
