Maybe the guard change at The Royal Palace (Amalienborg) - an option might also be Go Boat - be your own captain.

    Best way is by taxi.
Alternative is train from airport to Copenhagen Central or or Metro M2+M3/M4 to Rådhuspladsen (Town Hall Square).
Public transport to Cruise Terminal at Oceankaj is Metro M4 to Orientkaj and bus 25 or 164 to the terminal.

    Thank you!  🙂

  2. I have browsed through this thread and the information is awesome!  Thank you to everyone who has contributed.

We will be arriving in Copenhagen in June for 2 nights before our cruise.  There will be 5 of us - 4 adults and a 7.5 year old.  Aside from Tivoli, is there anything anyone would absolutely recommend for kids this age?

Also, what is the best way to get from the airport to the hotel and then to the ship?  We will be at The Square Hotel and then sailing on the Norwegian Dawn.

    Thanks for all your help!

I grew up about 10 miles from Falmouth.  As children we loved the castle which has cannon and lots of history (I'm not quite sure where cruise ships dock or tender, but it ll almost be walkable from the docks). There is a lovely beach (Gyllingvase, with a good cafe, but nb the water will be cold by US standards). Since I grew up the National Maritime museum has opened: a great museum right by the docks and the harbour with lots of interesting stuff and things that kids can climb on and do.  There are also river trips up the Fal or across the estuary to St Mawes (another castle there, the twin of the one in Falmouth but smaller).

Awesome!  I will look into this.

  4. We will be staying in London for 2 nights after our cruise.  I've been reading about transportation options.  We are not interested in doing the ship's transfer so we are looking at either a car service or the train.  We will be traveling with my husband's parents and our 7 year old son.  Would love to hear the pros and cons of both options so we can make the best decision for our family.  Thanks so much!

  5. We will be sailing on the NCL Dawn in July with 2 other families.  We will have 5 kids between us, ages 4-10.  We depart from Copenhagen and end in Southampton, with ports of call including Edinburgh, Inverness, Kirkwall, Stornoway, Dublin, Belfast, Falmouth, and Portland.  I would love to hear from anyone who did any of these ports with kids.  What did they love?  Was there anything you did that was super special?  Anything you would avoid?

    Thanks!

  6. We will be traveling from Southampton to St. Ermin's on July 12th for a 2 night stay before flying out of Heathrow.  I've read through the thread some but wanted to confirm what I am looking for in terms of train stations.  It looks like I should be searching Southampton Central (SOU) to Waterloo East (WAE), is that correct?

What is the best company for car service to Heathrow?

    Thanks!

  7. Has anyone had this cabin or any cabin on the Lido deck. We are concerned about the noise but it looks so close to everything. Also, we like the Caribe balcony and are not sure if the balcony on Lido is too small. We appreciate any information.

If you can move to the Caribe deck on Caribbean Princess for the same price, I would! The extra balcony space is AMAZING! I would pick that over being on the Lido any day!

  8. I've tried searcing these boards for the past several days and it keeps telling me that the search function is down.

If anyone has stayed in this room before, I would love thoughts. Usually we stay between stateroom decks but had no choice on this cruise as we booked fairly last minute. We are above the pursers desk, away from the bars. Hopefully we won't have a problem.
