  1. Having read all the posts on this thread I thought all cruise lines and their individual ships have have pros and cons. If I want a theme park type cruise with all the attendant razz a mataz I would go with RCCL or for other attractions such as the gourmet food perhaps I would cruise with Celebrity.I pick P&O because I like a relaxing on a ship with a British atmosphere.I have a great choice of cruises available to me as does everyone else. I cannot understand why people want P&O to change to suit them. If you don't like that cruise line the answer is simple don't use them, if as a result they then go out of business you will have nothing to worry about, it wil only affect those who like to cruise with P&O.

While I like to holiday in the United States where I find most of the people I have met to be very friendly and helpful, I find that while they are on vacation as on a cruise ship they can be very loud and brash hence the reason I stick to British ships and before you all jump in I know some of our own can behave in a boorish manner.Enjoy what you like all cruise ships/lines do not have to be the same.

  2. Both my wife and I and our friends enjoy the GBS especially when we are in alongside another ship and if Neil Oliver is the cruise director he knows how to handle his audience, it is not all Vera Lynn try keeping up with his "Americana",we also take our own "Union Jacks and Saltire" with us much better than the plastic ones. A couple of years ago the Caribbean Princess was alongside us and her passengers were trying to out sing us on Azura, we have also been alongside Mien Schiff and even the Germans joined in a sing song. So chill out with the GBS if you don't like it don't take part it's only 1 hour or so out of 14 days.

  3. I have to agree with both posts My wife and I have cruised a number of times with P&O over the last few years the last being in March 2013 on Ventura in the Caribbean and we are aboard her again at the same time next year. We have enjoyed all our cruises and have never found anything which would cause us to complain, yes over time we have noticed small instances of "cut back" but in the present economic climate I am sure these are not confined to P&O. What I do find offensive in some of the posts are references to "Mass Market" inferring that the type of passengers on the ship are not of the type or social class that one would expect to be on a cruise ship. Both my wife and I have worked hard over the years and are now retired and in the position to enjoy ourselves which we do by cruising, and in doing so we have met on the whole a lot of nice people who know how to enjoy their holiday, we have also met people whom I would not wish to socialise with both from ends of the social strata. On our cruises we have heard a number of people complaint about the standard of food, cleanliness of the ship, standard of entertainment etc in my opinion P&O are not perfect but I enjoy their product, I have found in the past if something is not to my satisfaction I bring it to the attention of the ships staff at the time and it will be dealt with, not waiting till I return home and then moaning on a review site.

Life is to short to spend it looking for things to complain about I regard myself fortunate to be able to afford a cruise and i look forward to every one of them.

Happy and enjoyable cruising to everyone including my fellow passengers on P&O.
