There will be plenty of transportation available and there is no security issues at Crown Bay. That being said, Havensight does have more advantages. It is much easier to get to the east end of the island (Red Hook, Sapphire, Coki) from Havensight. Alot more shopping options right off the ship at Havensight. Getting to Magens Bay is just as easy from either dock. Getting to and from the town of Charlotte Amalie is probably easier from Crown Bay. There tends to be a bottle neck between "town" (downtown Charlotte Amalie) and Havensight.

Water Island. Best beach

You pick up the ferry about a five minute ride from the Crown Bay cruise ship dock next to Tickles restaurant. There is really only one beach which is about a 10-15 minute walk (over a hill) from where the ferry boat dock is on Water Island. No souveniers.....There is usually someone there selling food and drink out of a little hut.....very informal.

Captain Jini Lewis?

I have not been on the boat although i have met her, but..... .....I am pretty sure she will pick up passengers in Red Hook in St Thomas

Which catamaran trip?

You do not have to get off the boat at any time. Both are great trips.......I might pick the St John trip.:)

Shopping in St Thomas or Catamaran to St John?

Do the sailboat trip.......It will be the best day of your vacation!!
8. Honeymoon Beach is not accessible by car.
9. Yes indeed, they did replace the floating platform. It was not there two weeks ago. :)
10. Islander, There is no longer a swim float in the middle of the bay anymore.....:)

Megan's Bay

Magens Bay...
12.
The food in the MDR was not good; but the food in the Windjammer was worse. Our ship did not have any special dining area (Chop's etc), if they had we definitely would have tried to find higher quality food to eat. We ate on shore as often as was possible.
What ship (and when) were you on? :)
13. I just got off my first RCCL cruise. (AOS 9/20 - 9/27) I was with a group of 15 close friends. We had late seating MDR everynight. I would consider ourselves more food snobs then not, living in St Thomas most restaurants are high end. Our consensus of the dining room was very good to excellent. Occasionally the food could have been hotter,(or the cold soups colder) but the flavor was always right there. During the week.we had one meal, a salmon dish, that was unedible. No one ever ordered the top sirloin steak. The vegetarien/Indian dishes were always enjoyed by those that ordered them. I don't think anyone was a big fan of the cold fruit soups. (perhaps better served as a sorbet??) I made a point of sticking my head in the Windjammer every night to check out the choices. Most nights I would sample a few items. (thats right I ate dinner twice ;)). While there would always be some good items at the buffett, there were definitily some items that were absolute crap. (those steaks come to mind....yuck!) For me, putting pants and a collared shirt or a tie and jacket on was definitily worth it. We did do Portofino one night.......It was OK, not to me worth the extra $20. (I should have had the filet perhaps.) My calamari was rubber. (I should have sent it back) My seafood platter had a lousy lobster tail, although the salmon, scallops and shrimp were very tasty.

Help With Excursion - Snorkeling
I was thinking of perhaps Trunk Bay. Thanks, Gary
Day sailboats do not go to Trunk Bay. It being part of the National Park has limited moorings for boats and no anchoring is allowed otherwise.

Day Passes at Beach Resorts/Hotels in St. Thomas?

All beaches must have public access here in the Virgin islands.....so nothing to stop you from using any beach at any resort. I have never heard of any resort here refusing use of bathroom facilities. Someone will probably come around and charge you for using a lounge chair.
