  1. What is the current status about doing tricks on the boogie board?

Last time I went was October 2013 and there was talk about how the President of RCI was going to allow tricks again, but nobody on the Allure knew anything about it and they refused to allow any tricks.

Specifically last time I went I was only allowed to do the following tricks boogie board:

    1. riding on knees,

    2. riding drop-knee,

    3. prone 360,

    4. 360 on knees,

    5. 360 drop-knee,

    6. sitting on the board (Indian style or with feet in front)

    7. push-ups on the board

    8. DK Shuv-it

    9. laying on back

Are we allowed to do anything else? Have you actually gone in January or February 2014 and done turtle shell, barrelrolls, front roll, front flip, superman, Drop-knee (DK) Roll, seat drop, bounce and barrel roll in air, standing up on the boogie board, waterfall?

I do not know what you mean by DK shuv-it, but all the first 9 I was allowed to do on my Mar 1 Sailing.

I have never heard of turtle shell or waterfall. Any trick involving the board not being directly on the water is prohibited. Barrel Rolls, flips, superman, etc. Standing on Boogie Board is NOT allowed. Seat drop, if you mean starting out sitting down, that is allowed.

  2. Oasis has 2 Flowriders, Indy only has one. :D

Oasis is normally more expensive than Indy because Oasis is bigger. Those prices are a good discount from normal for Oasis. I would take Oasis, because I know from experience that more Flowriders means more time on it and less time in line, and I just like bigger ships in general. Now I have been to almost all of the Caribbean ports, and I still enjoy it each time, but I like big ships and particularly Flowriders.

Here is the text of the announcement:

Navigator of the Seas – March 23rd Sailing

    March 24, 2014 9:00 p.m. E.S.T.

Since the oil spill, Royal Caribbean International has been in close contact with the U.S. Coast Guard and local authorities on when Navigator of the Seas will be able to leave Galveston, Texas, and begin the cruise. Regrettably, as of this time, they still have been unable to provide us a firm departure time.

We are sorry to say that because of this, we have made a decision to cancel the remainder of Navigator of the Seas' cruise. We understand that this is not the news that our guests were hoping to hear and we share in their disappointment. We are deeply sorry that we were unable to deliver the Royal Caribbean cruise vacation that they anticipated, and that we were looking forward to providing them.

In recognition of the impact this issue has had on their cruise, Royal Caribbean International will provide each guest with a full refund of the cruise fare paid. Royal Caribbean would also like to provide guests with the opportunity to sail with us again. We will be providing each guest with a future cruise certificate for 25% of the cruise fare paid for their March 23, Navigator of the Seas sailing.

Guests are invited to stay onboard Navigator of the Seas until next Sunday, March 30, and continue to enjoy the food and entertainment onboard. Or guests may begin to depart the ship this evening. When our guests leave the ship is entirely up to them.

As long as the Flowrider was open, I would hardly care about the cancellation.

  4. Another thought... Wonder if this same change would be implemented when Oasis goes into drydock? (Sailing on it's TA post-drydock so I'll know fer sure!)

It will not change. I found deck plans shp_oasisoftheseas_hdr.gif

Deck Fifteen from 01-Nov-2014 to 30-May-2015

The layout of pools will be the same on Oasis, no changes.

When is oasis 3 going to be done?

According to Royal Caribbean, she will be delivered mid 2016. http://www.royalcaribbeanpresscenter.com/press-release/1031/royal-caribbean-international-begins-construction-on-third-oasis-class-ship-/

  5. That would be a loooong slide from the suite deck area ("gold pass only") as the picture indicates to the kiddie area?

Maybe the slide should dip into CP then be a water coaster back up to the kiddie area.

I was thinking that they would move the kids pool.

I know that on Oasis and Allure, the kids pool is closer to the back, and the slide here is closer to the front.

  6. Thanks Dan,

For the front, my son tends to get seasick. Compared to the Radiance for example, I suppose movement on the Oasis would be MUCH less, even for carribean passage? A colleague some time ago ended up on the forward cabins on the Radiance and they got really seasick because of all the bobbing up and down of the bow area of the ship.

    Thanks.

Being 213 feet across, as oppose to 105.6 ft, the Oasis definitely will rock noticeably less. Seasickness should not be a problem UNLESS there is a storm that week (not too likely, but always a possibility) because Dec is considered hurricane season, and that is why it is cheap.

  7. OH Ok.....What I meant was that as long as the deck above the cabin I'm selecting is not a public area (like a disco or restaurant) where we can hear footsteps and tables and furniture being moved at night or early morning, and that the deck below is not crew area or has lots of foot traffic that can propagate noise.

*Basically we want an inside cabin that is as quiet as possible.

    Thanks.

Almost all of the interiors and in the front of the ship, not on the middle. All the interiors in the middle are either on below deck 5, (too low) or are noisy from the Promenade. There are a FEW interiors in the aft, but none hold more than 2 people.

The only places where there would be noise is a room on deck 12, right next to a loud family (not much to do about that), near the promenade, or on deck 3 because of Studio B (ice skating and shows) and the engine room is close by.

If the four of you are in one room, go for something in the front, on any deck besides 12.

  8. Where did you hear that? We just made our show reservations for May 10th and May 17th cruises, and have ressies for Come Fly With Me. Lists it right in our Cruise Planner very clearly, and I had not heard anything about that anywhere on the boards. Seems to me this would be pretty big news and many would have posted... :(

I heard that on the ship, but I guess they decided to not do it because the Royal Caribbean site is very good about reservations.

  9. Sorry about my last post, I was on my phone and had to go do something in the middle of a post and thought I cancelled it. I just came back to realize two words posted.

What I was trying to ask is do you happen to have the compasses for the 9-11 year olds from that cruise?

    Thanks!

I do not have those, but many other people do.
