You might want to include more info in your heading rather than "first timers" it's a little vague or as Jelayne mentioned the following

Ports of Call Info on Cruuse Critic

    Trip Advisor

Join the Roll Call for your sailing

  2. We are cruising on the Equinox in April and will fly into FLL. We are staying at the Intercontinental Miami for 2 days pre cruise and cruising out of Port Everglades

Will need transportation from FLL airport to the hotel and from the hotel to Port Everglades.

    What would you recommend?

Thank you in advance for all your help

  3. It's been many months since the last post.

Does anyone know the name of this place for cutters tucked between stalls & alleyway?

Lady Jane was going to look for a photo.

    Or can anyone else help?

Destination: Cutter sandwich' date=' local fish shack, walking distance from terminal building.

Have read the reviews of "Cuz's Fish Shack" but it's somewhere near the Radisson so not handy to the port.

Thanks! Or any other suggestions for local food like conch fritters, etc. highly appreciated![/quote']

Also interested in this place after reading these posts

  4. We are in our late 60's and after 55 were finally able to afford to cruise and enjoy ourselves many many times. At times we are seated by accident(I assume) with much younger people and can see how they look at us. Most times the maitre d' suggests a change of table or we just ask to be seated alone. Similar to how young people are polite but don't really want to talk to you "just as a person" at a party.

We have enjoyed many MDR tables with other couples within 20 years of our age and we had a great time - sometimes establishing long relationships.

It just feels badly when I read reviews about Celebrity and it is mentioned again and again that everyone was old. I understand but it is almost like we shouldn't go because we are old. I am still going to cruise and hope others still do.

You never think you are going to be so old that you don't belong! It just happens.

Never ever run into this ,especially on celebrity. We love sitting with younger people...we are both in the 60s. We find a much older crowd on HAL,( at least 5- 10 yrs older.lol) and integrate and enjoy just as much with them.RCL is much younger as well as Norwegian ,where we have so much fun....

Cruising is what you make of it and what you enjoy and we definitely think cruising is what brings good honest sincere people together,no matter what the age :):)

  5. The Trail is very easy to find( just go the other end of Horseshoe) and is a hard sand trail with some awesome photo opportunities of small coves in between, The trail takes about 15 minutes and is very safe.If you finish here you can walk up to road which is not as steep as horseshoe. If your catching bus here it,s not as crowded. Have fun

  6. Things are changing on all lines, some think for the better others think for the worse.

Many things that have disappeared I miss other's I was glad to see the back of.

    Agree with this ^^^^^

Where can you go for a reasonable price for your room, meals, beverages included, tips most times, great entertainment ,Many varied daily activities get to see the world, We have never had a bad cruise, some we prefer more than others

  7. This is a big eye opener for us,We have met friends for life thru roll calls and have cruised with one couple for the last 5 years in a row. We have always joined roll calls and participated in discussion.

We have seen a few overbearing people who want to control roll calls, but sometimes some roll calls offer no enthusiasm and sometimes we just dont go to the meet and greets because of this.

  8. When humanity can completely control the weather, avoiding storms 100% of the time will be possible.

Until then, we have to accept the fact that we cannot control or 100% predict the weather. Storms will change course, blow up out of nothing, and become far beyond what was predicted. It's called nature.

    Very true

IIRC, the warnings for the Anthem storm had been out for days, hence the class-action lawsuit. I think the only nature at fault here is *human* nature.

Have to agree with this, don't mess with Mother Nature

  9. With the up to date and advanced sonar, radar etc equipment that all all ships have, they just turn a different direction to miss any large storms.Hurricanes are generally slow moving systems and most ships have plenty of time to decide what direction they want to go to avoid storms. Do not worry any and all capable Captains will steer and veer away from any potential storms.

Only once we were diverted and it was in november. There are so many ports that are close in the Caribbean

  10. Highly unlikely you will ever see hockey on Cruise ship TV.Yes even the finals.May be difficult to even find a score on their espn channels ,Good luck though...

As oSbourne say the euros will be on IE that's Soccer or football as the rest of the world call it.

The sports channels that you see are Caribbean sports channels thru espn or fox depending on network and cruise ship, so there's not a lot of love for hockey but you can watch tons of soccer and lots of cricket when in season.

    go pens go

  11. Morristown PA or Morristown NJ? Morristown NJ is near Parsipanny and is on your route to the pier. Morristown, NJ is across the Delaware River from Trenton, NJ, the capital of New Jersey, and is not a "destination".

The town in PA across the river from Trenton is actually Morrisville, not Morristown. Not only is it not a destination, driving there would require a detour of more than an hour from any route you might be taking from Ontario to the Cape Liberty area. Hopefully you mean Morristown NJ, which is a very reasonable overnight stop-off point.

Sorry yes I meant Morristown N.J.
