  1. I tried all of last week to add the "wine & dine" package. Error message was the same as OP, with a phone number to call. Called the number, and was connected to cruise planner rep, who could not add package either.

This week I did an on-line email to let them know there was a problem with the cruise planner for purchasing the wine & dine . Now, when I log into the Oasis' cruise planner, the wine & dine package doesn't even show on either b2b reservations. It would have been nice to prepay, and keep my on-board spending to a minimum, but I figure I'll have to purchase it on-board.

BTW, my sweetie had no problem purchasing the soda package.

  2. Lol. You don't know anything about me. I am one of the biggest critics of their site and their programmers. Anywhere I worked if we did our jobs like they did, we would be FIRED.

    Agreed on all points!

I guess I wasn't clear. On Oasis, Sabor IS NOT your traditional "pay" restaurant on there. All someone has to do is book it on board. That's what we did on the transatlantic three weeks ago when Sabor debuted.

Items that traditionally haven't been on the cruise planner are now listed for the Oasis, i.e., Sabor, Prohibition Party, Lafite Wine Tasting,... If they're on the planner to schedule, whether pre-payment is required or not the planner app should work.

    Just sayin'...;)

  3. Because it has only been open since mid October.

What does the opening date of Sabor have to do with the website's cruise planner not working for booking a restaurant? Changes were planned for and technology planning "should" (using the word loosely) have moved simultaneous for the changes....Oooops I forgot, were talking about Royal Caribbean's website!

I know @Internetwhiz, that you have a soft spot for all things IT, but even you must agree a company as big and growing as RCCI should shore up their systems to work more effectively and accurately. After all it is the 21st century and there are a lot of talented computer programmers and engineers out there.

Every time I log into their website, I never know one day to the next if this will be the day, that their website will work "right". The work around is to book on-board. But realistically the cruise planner should work without Customers getting frustrated, having to call RCL/TA, and plan work-arounds.<sigh>

  4. I've been trying for a month to make dinner reservations at Sabor for our upcoming cruise on Navigator. No such luck. I hope I can do it when I get on board.

Agree! Sabor shows up on the Oasis planner, but only allows booking for two slots at lunch time. Why no dinner reservation function for Sabor restaurant??.

  5. Here's a tip for searching for help or a topic on Royal Caribbean. Do not use the search box on the royalcaribbean.com website, instead use google.com and type in search as: Royal Caribbean "insert search topic here"

The quotes will ensure you'll find all words in the search. 9 times out of 10, you'll find what your looking for accurately and faster than looking through 100's of non-related links the RC website search engine produces.

  6. Was on cruise planner to buy "wine & dine" package, got to very end to purchase and message told me to call RCI phone number. Called, and cruise planner rep couldn't purchase package for me either. Functionality of the cruise planner works for planning some things like booking entertainment or soda package, but not for everything.

Also, the RC website had changed our Traditional Dining time twice, after it had been corrected. It's still not correct. Keeps reverting to a time we've never had in our preferences or originally booked.:( Go figure!

  7. I have watched some sports on a Notebook via ship wi-fi, but internet was slow and it buffered quite a bit. With the 03b network (broadband connectivity) going in coupled with unlimited internet packages on the Oasis, perhaps buffering won't be a problem.

What would be really cool is if you connect a streaming device to their TV, like a Roku, Chromecast or Apple TV, or be able to access one's Tablo device to watch sports.

Re-read the press release and here is what it says about "03b":

"...These new capabilities, allow the cruise line to offer affordable, easy-to-use Internet packages so that guests may watch streaming video, check email, share images on social media and enjoy face-to-face video conversations – even in the middle of the ocean."

  8. We are on the Oasis on Nov. 1.... about six weeks ago I booked our shows.... one of them being Hairspray. I happen to sign in tonight and they were offering Cats.... same time as Hairspray and two other additional times. I figured Cats was replacing Hairspray... I choose Cats, choose the same time that I had signed up for Hairspray and it came back and said I had a schedule conflict.... I was seeing Hairspray at that time..... so to be safe, I choose the 2pm show the next day..... so are they messed up or am I going to get to see both shows??????

    Thanks

You can cancel Hairspray and add Cats to your calendar. Go to your cruise planner, click on “My Calendar”, click on “Full Calendar”, then under the cruise dates there are three icons (3 days, 1 day, List), click on List. Scroll down and you can then cancel “HairSpray”. This will allow you to add Cats without schedule conflict message.Hopes this helps.

  9. The press release (10/14/2014) from RC says, "Guests will enjoy menus of the new concepts beginning March 14, 2015, onboard Oasis of the Seas. Guests sailing Oasis of the Seas prior to March 14, will enjoy the traditional dining room experience in the newly designed spaces."
