If you had to choose between spending on Anthem or spending the money on Disney, Anthem is 8 days going from NJ to PC, coco cay, Nassau. Disney sails out of PC to Key West, GC, Cozumel, and Castaway Cay. I like Anthem, their features, Dining options, entertainment. Disney I like the dining options, entertainment which Disney is known for, the Aquaduck and the intenerary. So my question is do you go for the ship which has an ok inteneray or do you go for the cruise with Disney which I know we would have fun on,and Castaway Cay which I heard is one of the best private island.
BTW were in our 30s with no kids, I know most of you will probably say RC, but both of my me and my DW are big Disney fans so any insight would help, we've never sailed either Cruise line, only Carnival.
Disney for definite ! Go for it, DCL cruises are AMAZING !!!!

Hi
I am hoping some people will be able to help me I have just booked a 7 night cruise on adventure of the sea leaving San Juan 14th May 2016 travelling to the South Caribbean. There are 4 couples travelling together and we are all first time cruisers, we have the basic drinks package included along with my time dining but will need lots of hints and tips to get the best out of this holiday
Hard to give you random tips as it depends what you like or enjoy. I'd suggest you just keep looking at threads on cruise critic that interest you or if you think about something specific then post that question.
Have a great cruise :) :) :)

When people find out I cruise they usually ask me which cruise line I sail with or recommend. In the past I always said RCI (unless I thought another line wold suit their needs better). Up until now RCI has been the best overall with regards to price/value, ships, amenities, etc, to us.
But lately I've stopped recommending them as a first choice without pause. I say RCI has been our favorite but I can not, in all honesty, tell people to try RCI without doing your research because I no longer feel they are the best value in most cases. Now I tell people to compare a few lines with similar itineraries because in recent months many of RCI sailings have gone up so much in price, to me, they are no longer even close to a good value. This is my opinion, YMMV.
The BOGOHOAX sale that's been never ending since last may is a complete farce now. But I guess there must be tons of new cruisers out there that don't know that most of these prices are truly inflated, even from last year's prices, so the sale is working. Supply and demand I guess. I realize there's inflation but the cost increases are way more than that.
And now with the huge jump in drink prices....things are getting crazy at RCI. We have 3 cruises booked (booked them back in early May with BOGO, so we truly got sale prices) but unless I find some decent rates I don't see us booking any more RCI cruises.
I realize there are still some good rates to be had but they never seem to line up when we want/can to go.
RCI is still my favorite and I will continue to look for opportunities to sail with them but it's not the only line I am pricing now and cruising is not the only form of vacation we will consider. In fact, we are headed to Cuba in a couple of weeks - this is the first winter without a cruise in years - in the past few years we never even considered anything but a cruise. It's sad but it's reality. For me, the value has diminished substantially.:(
I know many of you will disagree and that's ok. We all have our opinions and what's a good value to some is not to others. I'm glad there are choices out there for all of us.:D But maybe there are others like me who have stepped off the Royal band wagon and looking at other options.
Happy travels:)
Yes, I've stopped :(

Right, somebody posted the Indy dates (which are supposedly unknown) so I thought someone might now the NOS dates :)
Thanks for replying :)

Does anyone know the Transatlantic dates for Navigator of the Seas in 2016 please?

Access into the Concierge Lounge on our first ever RCCL cruise on Mariner of the Seas, 14 days back to back.
It was awesome. Have had to wait patiently since to go in again until I made D+

Looks like it's about 35-2.:D
And that's a good thing - people being honest about what they like and don't like.
It's not a competition so even 1-100 would be fine :)

Just looking at your cruise history Rockfordcruiser.
What was the "That Guy Cruise" - just interested :)
-
I think a cruise is what you make it, enhanced and supplemented by the ship, it's activities and food.
The are many good reviews as well as not so good - go on, take the plunge and pull the trigger and book :)

If I've looked at the correct menu it looks like there is a buffet for accompaniments in this restaurant with the meat served table side.
Can anyone who has dined here tell me if it feels like a buffet (more casual) or a proper evening meal dining room?
I want to book it for someone's birthday but I'm not sure if I should go more formal ??
Thanks :) :) :)

Can anyone who has eaten at Izumi on Allure of the Seas tell me what you thought of the quality of the food please ? (I know it's subjective but any comments welcome).
Also, is there enough to eat on the menu to feel like a proper evening meal with several courses if you don't like sushi ?
(I've looked at the menu but can't deduce this - lol !!!)
Thanks :) :) :)

I for one, tend to agree with you. it could be that the time will come that RC spins off all the small ones (relative term) to focus on the bigger ships. it's just evolution. It is difficult to be all things to all people.
Thank you John&LaLa :)
-
Have you ever sailed on the smaller ships?
Because they're amazing and a lot of people will miss them.
Yes I have several times. I know many people will miss them, but this thread is just my view :)

1. Old news.
2. Many like the smaller ships.
:) :) :)

roll on 2016 when Splendour moves to Thomson cruises ownership ! :)
We're getting rid of the pesky little ships, one by one :) :)

I booked a future trip direct with NCL , same agent I used in the past. I noticed
That a popular online travel agent, whom I used before, has
The cruise piece for the same date as $80 pp lower and on board credit of $75
And includes the promotions until tomorrow.
Do I cancel with NCL and rebook with the agency? Big savings.
But I have the security of NCL
Price
Any ideas ?
Cancel - take the extra perks :)

Thanks

Can anyone tell me what brand(s) of alcoholic cider they have on Epic please?
Thanks :)
-
I'm just playing Devils advocate here, but since you made the comment about other people asking absurd questions... There were probably just as many people sitting there thinking "who cares, ask something normal" at your detailed technical questions.
Lol. I agree !!!
-
Can you tell when sailing on the Epic how far out before the date of your cruise can you book dining and entertainment options please?
:) :) :)
-
Can you tell me if there is a free steam room and sauna in the gym or spa changing rooms please?
If there is, are they co-ed or not?
Thanks

I believe that if you are sailing in Europe you actually get two of the promo choices. You might want to look into this. I think you should get a choice of two of: UBP, UDP, OBC.
6&8
Thanks for that advice - we did also get the beverage package.
$792 per person for 10 nights in a balcony inc' taxes plus the dining and beverage packages free. An amazing price !!!!!!!
Free Kids Soda Package from TA

Never tried but anything is worth a try.
They can only say no and you still won't be any worse off than you are now.
Have a GREAT cruise :) :) :)
