  1. Going to Paradise beach for the day off a cruise ship. Can I pay in Cdn$ or US$ For entrance, food and drink or must I convert funds to pesos ?

Will taxi driver take Cdn$ or US $ for fare?

    Please advise.

  2. Hi I read on my cruise site that Cozumel no longer takes US$ For purchase . You must pay in pesos Is this true? If so would it make more sense to bring Canadian $ to convert since I am from Canada instead of buying US $ and covert to pesos.

    Please advise.

  3. hi

Myself and DH and another couple will be in Cozumel in early April on a cruise. We are plannng a day trip to Paradise Beach.

How early do we have to get there to get pool lounges. Does this place get crowded and very noisy.

We just want to relax by the pool have a few drinks and something to eat and swim in the pool. Not interested in beach due to mobility issues.

Any advise on this club would be greatly appreciated.

  4. Hi

I am a Canadian and will be on board Discovery 2 Cuban Fusion on April 3,2018.

I will bring Canadian $ to covert in Cuba and US$ for Grand Cayman and Cozumel. What do you use on board for tipping etc. Pound Sterling or Euros.

How much would you think we would need if we are using a credit card for ship board expenses and would use pounds or euros for the xtra tipping.

Also does anyone know if the itinerary for April 3 been changed and confirmed.

    Thanks

    Dorothy

  5. We were on Navigator in December deck 2 Oceanview midship. .Usually we book decks 7 and above but got a great deal on this cabin. As stated earlier the only issue we had is the deck does not go all the way thru the ship so had to go to deck 4 to get to other end of ship but was great location to get to MTD room and main pools . No noise on floor and no movement. We actually really enjoyed our room.

  6. I was on this cruise and Cuddy and Claire were great. The staff we met in the windjammer and the main dinning room and Jonny rockets were all very friendly and upbeat. The food was good not great but hey I didn’t have to cook it. We always found chairs around the main pool and the last day we had lounges in the solarium pool.

There is a few things that needed to be repaired on the ship like pool chairs and theatre chairs and chairs in studio B but overall the ship was well maintained and clean.

We also loved the comedians and the bands that played on the ship. Unfortunately did not care much for the production shows and the ice show. Thought them to be average.

Our room attendant was great and she contacted us every second day if she didn’t see us daily to find out if we needed anything.

Didn’t buy a drink pkg as I don’t drink that much due to medications but did have four drinks and they were good. Did see the drink card being offered 75.00 plus 18% gratitudes. Had plenty of ship water and lemonade and didn’t have any issues with water so no need to drink bottle water, although we did bring on 8 small bottles for our cabin. We also brought two bottles of wine on board and our TA sent us a bottle and we also had a gift from our family of wine and chocolate covered strawberries so we had a glass of wine with dinner every day.

  7. Hi I am still on Discovery 2 in April 2018. I have the basic all inclusive drink package and was wondering since bottle water is not included in it if someone can tell me how much I would pay for it. Also if I want a Mudslide (listed on premium pkg.) how much would I have to pay for this cocktail. Many thanks for any information given.

  8. HI this is a Marelia cruise (formerly Thomson vacations) on Discovery 2 Cuban fusion April 3/18. The Canadian travel supplier this cruise is booked thru is Sunwing Vacations/Airlines. I was hoping there was a Canadian traveller who is also doing this cruise thru Sunwing and has used them before could answer my question.

I will try and repost on another site.

    Thanks

  9. Did my first guarantee Oceanview ended up with deck 2 adjoining cabin on Navigator December cruise. Called TA to see if we could get a cabin on a higher deck since we are platinum members and I have read people who have only cruise once or twice with RCCI have gotten upgrades and better cabins on guarantee bookings. TA called RCCI and was advised deck 3 under casino or same deck further down no adjoining cabin. Not happy about cabin but will only be sleeping in cabin so it won't spoil the cruise. Don't think I will do a guarantee again.:(:(:ship:

  10. Does anyone know if you can still purchase buckets of beer on any RCCL ship. We have done this in the past where you got a cooler bag with 5 beers for the price of 4. We are going on Serenade of the Seas in Dec. and were hoping this was still available

  11. Has anyone used the express departure and if so how does it work and approx. what time can you get off the ship in FT Lauderdale . I have a 11:40 am flight home and just wondering if this is going to work for me or will I be stressed out trying to get to the airport on time and checked in.

    Thanks:(:(

  12. We stay here everytime we cruise out of Ft Lauderdale...doing it again in Dec 16. Close to fast food restaurants and Shopping mall. Hotel has free shuttle from airport and to cruise port also free breakfast..not the greatest but can get you started for the day. They have been renovating the rooms as they are dated. Pool area is nice and has a small bar so you can sit and relax with drink during the day and at night if you want.

We stay here due to the price and being near everything and the free shuttles. If you are looking for more than a four star hotel this is not the one but is great for an overnight stay pre or post cruise.:):)

  13. Hi we have stayed here several times pre cruise, Rooms are average and they were in the process of renovating them when we were there last last Nov. Our friends have also stayed here many times and are doing so again in Nov. this year. Breakfast is included but they do run out of eggs and sausage pretty fast. they have make your own waffles, fresh fruit, bread and bagles. We like staying here as there is shopping mall right near by and several restaurants. Also the cost of the hotel is inexpensive when you consider it includes shuttles from airport to hotel and hotel to cruise port and your breakfast.
