  1. I second CAVETUBING.BZ - we didn the altun ha AND cave tubing with them, they were fantastic!

I would love to hear about your experience with cavetubing.bz doing altun ha and cave tubing!! I wanted to do this tour but I'm so paranoid about being a tendered port and missing the ship. did you feel you had plenty of time? If you had to do it over again would you still do both?

  2. I've booked this tour for March and was wondering if anyone has ever done them both. If so, any information, tips and pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I know this was from last year, but did you end up going on the combo tour? I am looking to book the same tour for September and was curious what experience you had!

  3. Can not comment about tubing but I can about Xunantunich - it is the entire day tour. If going with Carnival you will have priority tender so you can get on the road without waiting. You will see lots of country side before getting to the ruins. After you complete your tour on the way back you will stop for lunch. Most likely you will get back in time for the last tender. If your tour is late they will wait for you as you are on a tour sponsored excursion. Tubing and Zip-lining is a good option for you and there is a lot of information on this forum about it. No matter how you look at it, you will have fun.

Thank you so much for sharing! And I know we will have a good time especially thanks to everyone's input! All the other ports I have things planned and it was an easy decision, but on this one my party is split on what they want to do so we are trying to reach out to the cruise critic family! :D

Anyway, I hear xunatunich is further then altun ha. Did you feel it was worth the long ride?

  4. This is our first time to Belize so I don't have any first hand experience with cave tubing, however, you may want to consider doing both cave tubing and a Mayan ruin. We're doing both Cave Tubing and visiting the Altun Ha ruins with cavetubing.bz on Christmas day.

The $100 fee includes transportation, lunch, water, rum punch, equipment, tour guide and admission to the ruins.

That sounds interesting. I didnt even know that was as an option. How long of a day is that? Cause one of my biggest fears is missing the last tender back to the ship.

  5. I hear a lot of good things about these lamanai ruins but they aren't offered by carnival, which is who I'm sailing with. I'm a little nervous since it is a tendered port taking a tour not offered by carnival so my only options are altun ha Mayan site & river Wallace, altun ha & Belize city tour, and xunatunich Mayan ruins with lunch. If I did choose to do ruins it would probably be one of these. Any thoughts?

I feel like the ruins is recommended more for first timers from what I've read so far from you guys?

Thank you so much for sharing and helping make this decision! We travel in September! :D

  6. I think my boyfriend and I are leaning more towards cave tubing and his brother and wife are leaning more towards ruins. Which of the ruins were your favorite that you've been to? Are they all that long of a drive to go see? And have you ever done the Tour to the ruins taking the river as well?

  7. This will be my first time to visit Belize. I know it is known for both the ruins and the caves but I can't decide which would be the best excursion to start with. I will be going in a group of four, ages ranging from 26-46. All of us are adventurous and love to see the historical sights which makes it hard to choose. Which one should we see & do for our first time to Belize?

  8. You can go here to find the services offered: http://www.carnival.com/onboard/cruise-spa/spas-cloud-9.aspx

    I've had a massage at $90 p/p.

I also know if you want to just use the facilities (thermal suites and thalasso pool) here is the pricing list: http://www.shipcruise.org/carnival-cloud-9-spa-room-package-prices/

I loved the spa on the Dream and only used the facilities as I had a spa room. I hope this helps!

Thank you so much! That actually really helps! That second link gave pricing for a whole bunch of other services. It also makes me curious to book a spa room next time!

  9. I'm considering doing some spa packages for the first time on a cruise and I'm a big budgeter. Does anyone know where I can find the pricing and what services are offered in the spa? And those of you who have used spa services, which would you recommend? Any favorites?

  10. Sorry if this has already been asked but does anyone know how long the jogging track is on the dream? I want to stay active on vacation and it would be nice to know how many laps til 1 mile.

  11. Thanks clackey! We are planning to eat somewhere local, but when we need snacks I will make sure and try them!

Pacificmountain2012 so I'm guessing if it's deep water, for safety, there are life jackets? I am so excited to see sea life in its natural habitat. It would be so amazing to see a sea turtle! In other reviews, I heard people say they saw sharks, but I'm assuming those are on more of a dive trip then a snorkel trip.

  12. Thank you so much for all the information! You guys have pretty much made up my mind on this place. And I don't think I can pass up snorkling the 2nd most famous reef! :D Do you know how deep the water where they take you to snorkle is? A couple of people in my group aren't the best swimmers. And do we just tell them when we are ready that we want to go to the reef or do they take you out on a schedule?

  13. maldenmusic thank you so much for this information! And that picture is that paradise that I'm looking for! :D I have another question if you don't mind! Have you ever paid the additional to go snorkling on the reef? Is it worth it? It is reassuring to hear you go here all the time and will be going back, that means it is that wonderful! I've only ever been to Cozumel one other time and we went to Mr. Sancho's AI but I wanted more of a paradise looking beach with no(or not very much) water toys and still with pay as you go options to just relax at.

  14. I am really interested in going to this beach. From pictures it looks beautiful but I can't find much information that's recent. Does anyone who has been here before have any information that would help make my decision? Like what is the sand like walking into the beach? About how much are drinks? Does this beach ever feel crowded with a lot of boats in Port? And I know it can range depending on what port you come into, but about how long does it take to get there?
