While we are all dreaming...a card that limits it to 20 drinks or so and a card that's just for coffees (for mom who doesn't drink but loves her fancy coffee) . I hate packages with those expensive prices for all that mess, I don't need or want. I wish cruise lines in general would do something for those who drink some but not enough to spends a few hundred on a package.

Yes! MSC used to sell coupon books for drinks, coffees and waters. It worked great for us on the Divina last year. I wish they were still available for our upcoming cruise on the Seaside.

  2. Sorry you had such bad experiences.

I was on the same cruise. As you said YMMV, my experience was quite different.

My DW and I loved the main dining room for dinner and breakfast. As we had purchaced CHEERS the wait staff made sure our wine glasses were never empty and they would bring two bottles of Pelligrino at a time! And the food, the steaks arrived to the table rare and medium rare as we ordered (the first time that has ever happened on a cruise for me) the lobster was cooked perfectly, juicy and tender not the dry rubber I've experienced in the past.

Our room steward was great. Asked us when we wanted to have our room serviced (10 am) and without fail when we came back to the room it was made up with the towel animal of the day on the bed (or hanging from the vent in the instance it was a bat).

The only down side for me was the port operation. After parking in the port parking lot, the shuttle driver dropped us off and told us the wrong place to take our luggage. We ended up dragging our luggage through the terminal to the ship. Arrgh!

Aside from the rough start we had a great time and I would recommend the Vista.

1&2 my experience has been the same. 3. We have only been able to get fountain Soda and never cans every time every ship we've done Cheers on.

Ps If you get Cheers, make sure you get your giant bottle of water each night in the MDR 🙂

Can you get sparkling water at dinner?

  4. First, I tried to search other posts, but couldn't find any.

I'm looking for a picture of some recent menus, preferably from Vista, but I'm sure they are fairly similar across the line. Pictures of the MDR Wine selections would be great too.

A link to another post where these are available works too.

    Thanks

Here's what I'm hoping for. The balcony doors will all be equipped with sensors that will record each time someone allows their balcony door to slam shut. The first time it happens, the occupant(s) will receive a letter asking that they kindly not allow this to happen. After the second offense, they will receive a letter stating that if this occurs one more time, the balcony door will be automatically locked, and that they will not have access to their balcony for the duration of the cruise, and that there will be NO compensation (financially or otherwise) for this. In addition, there will be a call button on the balcony to contact Security that someone has been locked out on their balcony.

Great Idea. Or maybe just install sliding doors, like on the MSC Divina.

  6. The hotubs in Serenity, and pools/tubs in Havana (assuming that's what you meant by Horizon) are advertised as open till midnight daily. But there's always a chance they could close and start to clean them earlier than midnight especially if they are empty. I just wouldn't show up at 11:45pm and expect to be able to use them.

One bummer about Serenity on Vista & Horizon is the bar closes at 6pm. So if you are planning on staying up there later for the sunset you have to trek down to lido deck 10 to get to the closest open bar.

That's exactly what I wanted to know.

Guess we'll have to stop for a drink on the way.

    Thanks!

  7. I'm interested in going to Seven Mile beach this January. Many posters mentioned renting chairs/umbrellas from Calico Jacks.

I'm wondering if anyone has some pictures of the area.

    Thanks,

    Dave
