  1. We had a guide take us to Mayfield Falls, and it was all of our favorite Day of the cruise. Included a river walk, spectacular lush scenery, a stop at a local jerk stand (yummmmm) and a sunset tour of Montego Bay, ending with a stop high above the Bay for a beautiful photo op. My daughter was 8 at the time and still talks about it.
  2. I stayed at the Prytania Park, but that was just before Katrina. At that point, the place had a number of pros and cons. A pro was that the price was very reasonable. They advertised as being part of the Garden District. They were just outside of the District. I felt safe staying there with my then 8 year old daughter. Nice restaurants within walking distance and easy access to the trolly. I don't remember exact taxi fare to the pier, but it was pretty cheap. Maybe $10? The cons, at that point, was that the furnishings, carpet, wall paper, were a little dated. I would have preferred inside access to the rooms. Hope this helps. Cynthia
  3. I am traveling by myself from Oregon then meeting up with several cousins from around the midwest in Galveston before we cruise out. I am wondering if it would make the most sense to rent a car from Enterprise then drop it off at the pier? Thanks for any advice, Cynthia
