Cash ...
I must say some great tips on this site
We are spending a few days in Feb 2024 before we board our cruise to Hong Kong .
My question is it does not appear cash (Local Singapore dollars) is needed other than hawker centres
Is this a reasonable assumption? Just trying to determine how much we need to convert for the countries we are visiting
Thanks everyone who contributes 😀
I didn’t get any Singapore Dollars based on everything I’ve seen. I do have Grab set up on my phone for transport, but also for the QR code payment option. That should cover everything needed, with my credit cards.

I have been SheerID verified with Princess for years. It should be on my account and apply automatically any time I book, but it never has. I always end up needing to email the military benefit mailbox to get it, and they respond very quickly and apply it. One time I forgot to check before leaving for the cruise, but Guest Services was able to get it applied for me within a day.
The email address is militarybenefit at princesscruises dot com. I submit an email with my Captain's Circle #, Booking # and sail date, and state that I'm already SheerID verified.

This is a cool site I hadn't seen before. Thanks for sharing this. And they have an app! Adding this to my cruising folder 😄

The new app signed right in for me using my Princess account email and password. Booked cruise is there, all of my data shows up where it should be. The overall look is much nicer than the old one. Looks to me like they had some good UI planners involved. Excited to see how it works on board!

should bring it up in the App search.
Aha!
Well that's certainly not how I would have set it up. 🤦♀️ -
Thanks for the heads up! Here are how the apps show up in the Apple App Store. The new app did not show for me right away in the search, and I had to get to it different way.
New on top. Old on bottom.- 1

I went to the shops to use up my OBC. Bought a couple of mini Stanley’s that we don’t have and will grab some duty free later. The store has no bags so you have to just carry your purchases around with you. I could have just walked out of the store without paying if I weren’t an honest person 🤣
My friend is feeling very seasick with all the rocking and rolling the ship is doing. She just went to lie down. I did the honourable thing and finished her sushi! I’m not sure she will want to cruise again…😭
that Unicorn Stanley may have to come home with me.
They have candied ginger on the buffet line during lunch. Your friend may find that helpful for the stomach.- 3

Captain came on a bit ago and said there was a technical issue, and that’s why we are still here. Perhaps those guys outside are waiting on a part to be delivered?

And they’re closing up shop. Too bad to whomever didn’t make it.

We appear to be waiting on guests still. The check in folks are still down there around the kiosks waiting. The dock workers who were likely supposed to be on their way home already seem upset.

Princess does it again. No waiting upstairs - walked right in the ship. Mojito #1 already in progress.

Which begs the question, should I pack an umbrella for the walk home from the ship on Monday...
We are strong Pacific North Westerners, and we can handle a little rain! Right?
I was debating it too. I think I’ll skip it since I’ll only need it for the few blocks to the train. Packable rain coat for me.

I usually see the tracking originating in Singapore on my shipments. However I don't know if that's just where the shipping liaison hand-off begins from wherever in Asia.

I'm joining you on this one. It will be an interesting experiment for me since I'm traveling with ONLY a backpack. Let's hope I don't manage to still over pack 😄
I didn't get my cabin assigned until two days ago, and just like you there is no free upgrade for me. I'm way in the back, with a couple floors of buffer above the lounge.
I'm interested to see what kind of food and entertainment we'll see on this short cruise. I haven't planned anything and will just go with the flow.

I've been booked on this one for a while now, and just noticed the odd name change on Princess. Thanks to CC for always having the answers before I know I need them!.
No other info available online about the events or guests. Assuming this is a Princess theme cruise, and not an outside charter, the extras should be included?

We were on the Crown in May for 21 days. Yes, laundry and dryers were free. We bought $12 in tokens and had used three before we learned we didn't need them. Kept our extra token for our next cruise.
Once my wife knew the laundry was free it was another load every 3-4 days. We didn't request a refund as we had done a lot of loads. It also meant bringing home a lot of clean clothes.
We now pack the eco-laundry sheets and dryer sheets. They take up almost no space or weight. Much easier than the laundry pods.
I just bought the washing sheets, versus using the liquid packets like before. LOL at your wife - I will likely be the same way doing laundry every other day now. I better pack more washing and softener sheets than normal 🤣

The champagne tower is back, and Meet the Captain pictures are happening again!

These things look to be part of the grand scheme to turn Princess into a kid friendly Royal Caribbean-esque line 😞
I tried to get my 17 year old to try one on our last cruise, and she scoffed and said they looked awful. She's too old to be the target audience here, I think.

I've seen every cruise line BUT Princess on my AMEX over the past years 🤣 Princess would have to reach out to AMEX themselves to get the promo added, so I'm guessing they haven't bothered.

I don't get the Princess insurance. I buy a policy through CSA/Generali for each trip that covers everything. Cancel any reason, covers me from the moment I leave my house to begin the trip, reimbursement for the points I cashed in to buy the flights to Asia etc. The Princess policies are fairly limited when you want whole-trip coverage.

I’m curious - what is 360?
It's a new entertainment dining experience being offered. Similar to Le Petit Chef that Celebrity offers on their ships. Although Celebrity runs a lot more diners at once with theirs 😞

Agree, but I wouldn't receive a cell phone call on the ship at sea - not in port for that matter as I use a local SIM when we are travelling. I would be on MINT if in USA and something else if in Europe. Much too expensive to use my normal. I would think PCL personnel doing these invites ought to be checking what the guest is doing and be smart enough to realize they are on a ship.
They could also email if not getting an answer. Far more chance for a guest to pick up email than answer a phone call at sea.
Wifi calling works even with your cell service disabled.
OP did they also send email invitations to you?

If you log in to your Princess account, click My Account, then Cruises Sailed, you will see your current credits and future credits.
Note that I pay a single supplement, so I get double credits. 14 days=4 credits, 12 and 13 days only 2 credits. If you have the opportunity to grab short cheap last minute bookings, you can get those status increases quickly.

Yes you can do this. Just play a little between buying in and cash out. Nothing sketchy about it. You may even win!
This is exactly what I do with my unused OBC. Load up the casino acct, play for a bit on the cheaper machines, cash out. The Casino desk will pay out the money is US Dollars cash to you. You just have to remember to go in by the evening before the end of the cruise.

Independent Flight Information Question
in Princess Cruises
Posted
I did that same flight time twice in the fall, and one of those times was a late 930am arrival in to the port. You’ve got plenty of time, especially if you are walking up to the SkyTrain instead of driving through traffic to the airport.
YVR has a security reservation system you can book if you’re tight on time. Global Entry lanes were wide open for me when I passed through too. Easy peasy.
