Am I reading correctly that Port Valet is a FREE service?
Yep!! Totally free!
-
I did not see any flight time restrictions on the form. And our flight was 11:50 so I think you’ll be totally fine with 11:30.
-
Our Uber was $35. We are a family of three.
Passengers participating in port valet Are required to disembark by 8am.
-
Actually on my flight home after debarking bliss this morning. We used port valet to take our bags to the airport, and debarked with self assist. We even had a sit down breakfast at 6:30, off the ship through customs by 7:30. In an Uber by 8am, airport by 8:30. At our gate by 9:30 for a 11:50 flight.

A number of the Encore cruises are eligible for the taxes and port fees for free promo, which stacks with free as sea! So, if you're already booked on Encore you should call and get updated to the current promo!
-
Good luck to you:D We will be waiting to hear!!
Thanks! Still nothing.... Tomorrow is 48 hours..... I'm not giving up hope, but am trying to manage expectations!

If you booked directly with NCL I would call and see if they can upgrade you to a non sail away rate.
-
Just curious, was there much chatter on your roll call regarding bidding on upgrades? Hardly anyone on my roll call is discussing it, which I guess really doesn't mean too much.
It’s a big roll call, like huge. And there were some discussions about bidding on upgrades. I remember about half a dozen people mentioning they were bidding on haven (lots more on balconies and mini suites, many of which were awarded weeks ago). So, I can only surmise lots of people were bidding on haven ship wide.
-
Thanks so much! I’ll be checking furiously throughout the day and will report back!
-
Sorry. :( I am doing the same thing you were, checking how many Haven cabins are still available. My sailing has 14 but I am not hopeful as my bid is very low.
I bid in the fair range for four different categories. Felt like I had a decent shot! I’m holding out a sliver of hope thinking maybe they pulled the inventory yesterday and are processing them today... but I’m not counting on it.
-
There were 11 available haven cabins yesterday morning on my sailing. By afternoon they all showed sold out. No “processing” message, no credit card charges, no email. So I’m thinking no joy for me. I hope someone out there got one! Getaway transatlantic 10/15

Absolutely will do!
-
Good luck to everybody who has bids on the 14 day Transatlantic on the Getaway leaving this weekend! Checked earlier and there are still rooms available!
Thanks! I haven't heard of ANY Haven upgrades yet for this sailing, only balcony and mini suite so far.
I'm starting to wonder, now 6 days out, if maybe they're not going to fill those empty Haven cabins? Seems like a huge loss of revenue, but maybe she's sailing with a reduced staff since it's a repo? I dunno, but I'm starting to lose hope!

What does it mean if you bid and do not get any confirmation e-mail. I went back to check and the bids are there and say pending. I even updated one and it said a confirmation would be sent but none has come.
Any suggestions?
It usually means you entered your email wrong on the credit card screen of the upgrade process or it’s gone to your spam folder.

Here's a question I hope someone can answer. I booked a solo for March 17, 2018. My friend decided to come and also booked a solo. What are the chances that we can bid for a room together?
You can't combine two rooms into one for upgrade purposes. You could book a cabin you like together now with both of you in it, before final payment, and then bid on an upgrade if they become available. But if you don't get the upgrade, you'd be sharing a cabin. Some of the rooms the main bed splits into two though, so it might work.
Also, I don't think studios get upgrade offers?
-
Just received confirmation of successful upgrade from sail away inside rate to spa balcony room for $100pp for the Getaway transatlantic on Oct 15th. Very excited!
I'm waiting on this cruise too! That is one HECK of an upgrade for 100 pp!!!! I'm seething with jealousy over here!

If the process is controlled by NCL then why give a travel agency the say over if you're eligible for the upgrade or not?
The thing is, once you book through an agent, they control your reservation. NCL has to contact them, not you. So, if they don't want to "deal with" upgrades (questions about them, customer questions/complaints, forwarding the offers, whatever) then they opt out. They have nothing to do with the process, except to determine when their clients don't get them.
-
I have the option to upgrade but is it Norwegian's final decision to upgrade you or the agency? I had some issues with the agency so I doubt they'll be doing anything nice for me.
Once you get the offer to bid, your agency has nothing to do with it :)
-
If you didn't receive the upgrade email but know a bunch of other people on the cruise did then is there a way to contact NCL and ask to also receive it? I think the agency I used to book the trip doesn't participate in the upgrade program so that's why I didn't get it. Any success?
If your agency has opted out, you will not be eligible. Did you log into your NCL.com account and click on "my ncl" and then "view reservation" for that cruise to see if you have a "LET'S GET YOU UPGRADED!" splash page?
-
It's a fairly new program that replaces the old "call the upsell department " way of checking for an upgrade. As long as a person is booked through an agency that participates or with NCL directly, they receive an offer to bid against their fellow passengers for upgraded cabins at about 80 days out from sailing.
-
If you want to downgrade but don't expect a refund, they'll probably do it. But they won't return any difference in fare.
-
Did you receive a regular flat offer or an invitation to bid for an upsell?
-
If you know you're going to buy it, I would buy in advance to avoid standing in the dining line once you get onboard. Personally, I would buy three or maybe four nights max and do the standard dining rooms the other nights. On Escape, we enjoyed the regular dining rooms every bit as much as the specialties!
-
We booked adjoining interiors on Escape for spring break this year (departing april 8th) and we received the email to bid on an upsell at exactly 80 days out. We were only offered the option to bid on Oceanview or Balcony. We only bid for balcony, as the oceanview wasn't much of an upgrade for us.
We just got notification that we were given the upsell yesterday. From our 2 deck 8 interiors, we were upgraded to a deck 11 BF and a deck 13 BE. We bid $200 total per room. We're very very happy with our upsell, BUT not only are they not adjoining, they're not even on the same deck as you can see. It's fine for us as we're two separate parties.
I WOULD NOT bid on an upsell if it is important to keep adjoining rooms.
Wish 3 vs 4 night
in Disney Cruise Line

The 3 night is really only two full days plus embarkation day which is just a few hours. It feels very short and very rushed (I just sailed the DVC 3 night charter on the Wish).
Do the 4 night, for sure.
