Hello everyone!
I’m not sure about anyone else, but I’m pretty stoked for NCL’s new Terminal B in Miami! It’ll be nice to have some new facilities to enjoy - especially since what’s existing reminds me of a sad airport 😜
Since announcing it over a year ago though, NCL hasn’t said too much nor have I seen a lot here on Cruise Critic. I’m hoping we can change that! With that though, I have a concern:
Possible Delay?
NCL has stated previously it should be open to coincide with the launch of the Encore in November 2019 - but they haven’t said anything since. Now on the official PortMiami website, it’s listed to open February 2020:
Source: https://www.miamidade.gov/portmiami/cruise-terminals.asp
Has anyone else heard anything different? It’s not every day NCL builds a new terminal, so it’s hard to judge if it’s currently on or behind schedule given its current progress.
Speaking of which! I did find these recent progress pictures from a few days ago - enjoy!

Sometimes roll calls won't automatically add correctly. In the "Creating A New Roll Call" instructions, there are details on how to reach out to CC to get it correctly added to the roll calls:
Some additional Roll Call Info:
- It can take anywhere from 24-48 hours for a new roll call to be added to the "Find your Roll Call" tool. If after that time you still do not see your roll call in the tool, but know that there is a thread, please email help@cruisecritic.com with the Ship and Sail date to have it corrected. Sometimes the tool will "mis-file" a sail date and it would need to be manually corrected to show up.
- If you see two or more threads for the same sail date please email help@cruisecritic.com to have them merged.
- If there is not a forum for your ship you can post your roll call thread in either the ALL Other RIVER Roll Calls or the All Other CRUISE LINES (Ocean) Roll Calls

All solo events are available to anyone travelling solo regardless of cabin type!
On Embarkation day, there will be a meet and greet for solo travelers. If the ship you are travelling on has a Solo Lounge, it will typically be held there - but they will prop the door open to the Solo Lounge so everyone can attend (the exact location will be listed in the Freestyle Daily). The Solo Coordinator will generally take everyone's names and cabin numbers to keep you updated on events that happen during your trip. They would typically leave me voicemails to let me know of dinner or show times in case I wanted to attend with other solo travellers.
After that, the nightly get-together will be held near a bar/lounge as listed in the Freestyle Daily.

I don't mind fixed dining - all depends on if you are travelling with others or not.
If we are in a group, fixed dining means we can sit at our table even if someone from the table is 5 or 10 minutes late. Usually with freestyle, you only get to sit at your table once everyone in the group has arrived.
Does NCL have a fixed-time dining option?
Dining on NCL works just like any restaurant you'd typically go to. You're welcome to make a reservation for any of the restaurants for the time that works best for you and your party. Reservations can be made starting 90 days prior to your cruise date. Alternatively, you can skip the reservations and just show up - but you may have to wait to be seated.
Really, Freestyle just means that the events and venues on the ship function like their "real world" counterparts :)

What would you recommend if internet will mostly be used for email, Facebook, Instagram, etc.?
That would really depend on your personal usage, but if you're doing more photo-heavy things, you'll want at least 300MB. If you plan to use your phone, I would suggest you clear your Usage statistics and monitor them over the next few days of regular use. That should give you a better idea of the data you'll need.
I would definitely get the 1000MB for myself, but I'm a data hog haha :)

This is great news :D
I'm a self-professed technophile, so I'm pretty addicted to my data connection, hehe. I hope this gets rolled out to the Getaway before my trip in November.

If you look at the deck maps, you'll see the balcony rooms will have an series of indentations in the wall. The deepest of these is where the bed is.
For example, take a look at cabin 10160:
The deepest indent is closest to the balcony, so bed is placed there. Alternatively, right above in 10158, the bed would be in the middle of the cabin.

Breakaway - rooms near stairs

This is great to hear! We're on the Breakaway this November, and got assigned to 13186 from a Sail Away rate - which is also close to the stair and elevator banks. It's a relief to here it should be no big deal.
