We got our assignments yesterday! All are on deck 11 and three rooms are close together.

When you were talking about the little zip line that you saw at one of your ports, you mentioned that you have zip lined in Roatan. Which lines did you do? Some of our party is wanting to do that while we are in Roatan this summer and are trying to decide which ones are the best.

My husband travels with a CPAP. The last time we sailed the Getaway, we forgot an extension cord, and our room steward had one in our room as soon as he saw the machine. We didn't have to ask for it. We are planning on bringing our own on our upcoming trip.

Yea! I have also anxiously awaited your review! The only experience I have with Carnival is with the Sensation about 4 years ago. It was the only one that worked with our 25th anniversary time frame and only our 2nd cruise. Our first was on the DCL Dream. The next was on RCCL and then on the Getaway. We were so disappointed with the Sensation and made me wonder if that was the norm on Carnival. We love NCL so much, we are sailing on our 2nd Trip on the Getaway in June since the Escape had the same basic itinerary as our last Getaway trip. Your review may just make us give Carnival another try. I can't wait to experience your cruise through your report.

We have cruised DCL, RCCL, Carnival, and NCL. My family loved the NCL Getaway. In fact, we are booked again in June.

We applied for our passports on March 17 and got them in the mail on April 1. The turn around time was quick! Good Luck!

We upgraded on the Getaway from an inside to a GTY balcony without a problem. It was even cheaper than the inside. Good luck!

We walked without a problem. It is past Señor Frogs. We have also been to Cable Beach via #10 bus to the Melia. It was nice but you can't beat the convenience of walking to British Colonial. The ride back from the Melia was long due to traffic.

We go to British Colonial Hilton. They offer a beach package,, $60.00 per person, but includes 40,00 per person food and drink voucher.. They have pool, lounge chairs, and towels. We love it.. email me for more detail...

This has been our favorite place to go in Nassau. It is an easy walk from the terminal and no local beach peddlers.

My DH also uses a CPAP, and we have never had a problem getting the water. Our cabin steward also had an extension cord waiting for us once he saw the CPAP in the cabin. We always bring one just in case though.

I just checked my countdown, and we have 2 months 2 days and 2 hours until our Getaway sail away. I think 2 might just be a lucky number for me right now.

What an experience to be able to watch the rescue! This is a great trip report, and I can't wait to read the rest.

This scares me because my son and I are very sensitive to the smell of smoke and it causes us to get sick and our asthma flares up. We have been on 4 NCL cruises on the Pearl and Sun and have never had a problem. We booked the Escape for next spring and I'm thinking maybe we should try the Jade instead :(

I am very sensitive to smoke, too. But, I didn't have any problems with the smoke smell on the Getaway when we sailed in June 2014. We actually have another cruised booked this year. I hope the smoking issue hasn't gotten worse since the ship is older. I despise the smell of stale smoke.

Can't wait to hear about Costa Maya. We can't decide what to do there in June.
