  1. Hello, I will be sailing on the Jewel of the Seas in September on the 7 day California Coastal cruise with my wife and then 2 year old daughter, and have a few questions about the babysitters at sea. Does the Jewel have a nursery for group sitting at night, or is the only option in-room? Does the in-room still include 2 people? I see alot of prices floating around the web, does anyone that has recently used it know how much it is? Are the people babysitting background checked, and CPR certified? Do they give you a way for them to stay in contact with you? Thank you in advance!

Hey Cool Cruiser! Thanks for your question. On the Jewel, there is no group sitting. However, we do provide in-room babysitting. It's for $19.00 per hour, and you'll have 2 sitters. They have gone through background checks as well as CPR training, and you'll be able to meet with them to discuss what you'd like for them to do with your daughter during their time with her. Should you need to keep in contact with them while they're with your daughter, Guest Services may be able to provide dect phones. We hope this info helps, and we look forward to seeing you in September!

  2. I am looking at prices for 2 persons on the Enchantment in June. The OV is $556-$606 pp. Assuming the higher price, that should mean that the prices without taxes, fees and port expenses should be $909 (606 + 303). The taxes, fees and port expenses are $80.58 pp. This should bring the cost to $1070.16. There is no OBC. The summary of charges state the cruise fare is $742 per guest with same port expenses and a discount of $371 for guest two. The total is $1274.16. Can someone please explain this? I am confused  Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for the question. We'd love to discuss this with you! Can you give us a call to (866)562-7625 with your desired sail date? We're here to help.

  3. I've been trying to get our reservations done for our June cruise on Liberty. The options are there for the more expensive drink packages, but I want the Soda Only package (around $7pp/day). I emailed RCCL two weeks ago, and no response. I called today and was told they have no idea why it's not coming up as an option - because they still offer it. Anyone else have this experience? Does this now have to be purchased once onboard?

Also asked if Liberty had the Freestyle Soda Machines- he said NO. But some threads here say yes. Can someone tell me if the machines are onboard?

    Thanks!

Hi Jesters! Thanks for the question. Liberty currently does not have Freestyle Soda Machines.

You may purchase your Soda Package when reserving online, but you may also purchase onboard! If you have any additional questions, please reach out to our team at: (800)529-6918. We're here to help!

  4. Sorry to say this and I am sure I will get blasted, but just off a 7 day cruise on Navigator of the Seas and found the food very disappointing. We had only 2 good meals at Giovanni's table, but the food in the main dining room was less than mediocre. We have cruised a lot on several different lines, and have always enjoyed the dining experience and found things we liked, but not this time. Was this just an anomaly or is the quality going down? It almost seems that royal Caribbean wants to force cruisers into specialty dining, for which they will pay increasing premiums.

We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your main dining experience on the Navigator. We always strive to provide the best vacation experience across the board, and regret that we fell short in this area. We appreciate your feedback, and have forwarded it to our operational teams in order to improve where necessary.

  5. Just got off of the Adventure last week and had a great cruise. We are scheduled on the Oasis next Feb. While on our cruise all we heard was how bad the Oasis was. We heard it from crew and from people who had sailed on her. The itinerary is not special on the Oasis but we were going mainly for the ship. My wife is having second thoughts on this cruise. We have read some good things but actually talking to people who have been there was scary. We also heard St. Thomas was not a very nice stop? I know everyone has an opinion. I heard some bad things about the Adventure and I thought it was a great cruise. Could I find some things to complain about? Sure I could. Depends on the attitude you go in with. Whats your thoughts?

We understand your concerns. Rest assured, we have teams dedicated to listening to our guests' feedback, and make improvements where necessary. It's our goal to provide the best vacation experience across our entire fleet, and we're sure you'll enjoy your time with us on the Oasis of the Seas.

  6. Is it just me or does it seem like the RCCL website crashes every afternoon?

I know there might be more traffic then but if Facebook can do it???? Very frustrating, it won't let me login to make an adjustment on my itinerary. I know I can call but it's just a pain

Hi there, we're sorry to hear about the difficulties you've been experiencing with our website. We've notified our IT teams, and they're working to fix the issues. We appreciate your continued patience.

  7. Huge WOW moment from recent cruise on Navigator. My 4 yr daughter on the first sea day drew a picture in the cabin and wanted to give it to the captain. The next morning my wife and daughter took it to Guest Services and asked if they would give it to the captain. We had hope that the captain would send a note saying thank you or stop by our table and say hello, we could never have imagined what happened next. So we didn't hear anything till Saturday the last sea day when we got a phone call at 10 in the morning from Guest Services.

Our captain loved the picture so much that he invited our entire family up to the bridge for a personal tour with him. We were escorted by security up to the bridge where he was waiting for us with the picture in hand. He let both of our children "drive the boat" from the old fashioned wheel, introduced us to everyone on the bridge at the time, and explained everything to us and answered any questions we had. Oh yeah I was allowed to bring my camera and take as many pictures as I wanted. In all it lasted almost 45 mins and we got a couple pictures at the end of our family with him. A big kudos to Capt Aris Medina as this was totally unexpected and greatly appreciated!

We're so happy to hear that you had such an incredible experience onboard! Your daughter must be a very talented artist. Thanks for sharing your story!

  8. I changed my booking today to include the free beverage package, the update invoice I got shows it, but when I log into My Cruises on RCI site I don't see it. Does it just take time to update? Will it not show it something?

Hi! It takes some time to update, but please reach out to us within the next few days if you don't see a change! You can reach us at: (800) 529-6918. We're here to help!

  9. We always prebook a Wine & Dine Package online before our cruise. Our next cruise is on the Oasis in early Jan. After final payment, when I tried to book it I would get "can't add to reservation at this time, call customer support" so I called and was told be patient there are changes happening. So my question is, now the Wine & Dine package does not show up under beverage packages when I'm logged in or in the What to Know Before You Go section like it has been in the past. Did RCL do away with it?

Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, we no longer offer the Wine & Dine program. However, guests can bring two bottles from home per stateroom with no corking fee.

  13. I've been trying to book specialty dining and a beverage package on the RCI website/Cruise Planner which has been upgraded to a new design and format. However, the pages aren't loading. I have tried from two different browsers and my iPhone, with zero luck. Anyone else experiencing issues today?

Hi there, We're sorry to hear about your loading issue. We are upgrading our Cruise Planner System to enhance the planning experience for our guests and we truly apologize for the inconvenience. Please give us a call at 800-398-9819 and we'll be happy to help.

  14. I've purchased a beverage package, specialty restaurants, an excursion and a MTD reservation...... their 'show all' printable page now doesn't show it all.... just as well I have screen shots from the previous system.....

    Linda

    Hi Linda,

All guest purchases are available to view on our website under the pre-cruise planner tab. If you are having trouble viewing your purchases, please contact our Pre-Cruise Planner Department at (800) 398-9819 and they will be able to provide you with an email confirmation.

  15. We are in a quandary! It was reported today that US troops have moved into Estonia, Poland and Latvia and, in addition, travel sanctions have been mentioned yet again in connection with the problems in Ukraine.

The balance on our Baltic cruise is due to be paid within the next week or we lose our stateroom and our deposit. Ordinarily we would not hesitate as we were looking forward to visiting Scandinavia and Russia, but if we pay the balance now and then RCI decide to pull St Petersburg from the itinerary we would be really upset as that is the highlight of the whole cruise. So, our problem is do we not pay the final balance and lose our deposit and visit the Baltic another time in the future or do we take a chance? We certainly would not want to pay all that money for two extra sea days instead of St P and we can easily visit the other ports of call ourselves from UK so we wouldn't want substituted ports either. Tallinn in Estonia, where US troops have been sent, is one of our ports of call too.

Can anyone help us, any suggestions to help us decide? Help please!!:confused:

    Hi there,

We certainly understand your concern. The safety of our guests and staff is always a top priority and hope you understand that should political unrest impact any port of call we visit we have the right to alert the itinerary. Currently, we have not opted to cancel this port of call.

    Hope this helps.

  16. Thanks but I do prefer to be able to access the web page and do reservations online. What I wish to know is why it is not possible to book online anymore. I am sure there are helpful people when we call but why the web site does not allow to continue with a booking after choosing the cabin category.

I would appreciate if someone from Royal answers this question.

    Hi travelberlin,

Could you provide some more information on what sailing or itinerary you are trying to book? We went through a booking on the site and we're not seeing any problems, so if you can provide more details about your trip we can walk through the booking process on our end.

  17. I'm unable to connect to Royal Caribbean Connect

    No new Adam Blogs

    No outlet for news

    No new construction updates

    No new web cam images

Food Shmood... let's see something new

    uggggghhhhhhh

    Hi Overtyme,

Have you tried going to this URL: http://connect.royalcaribbean.com/connect/?

We've got several things in the works for our Royal Caribbean Connect site, so stay tuned!

  18. Question: I'm wondering if you will always be seated with whoever you make reservations with (My DH and myself) or if you can ask to sit with other unknown guests at a larger table? I love getting to know new people. My DH and I eat together every day of our lives. We enjoy making friends and meeting new people over dinner. Does anyone know the answer to this question????? Thanks :-)

Thanks for your question. Diners will have the same techniques available to them in terms of calling or visiting the dining room attendant if you are open to having guests join your party. There is nothing about Quantum that will create a new problem in this regard.

Our CEO Adam Goldstein goes into more detail in our Dynamic Dining Google Hangout video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDQOLrbxuBM&feature=share&list=PL-kPQ9X3_oa3xSaYSTMefLQ4hoiIspDct&index=2

    Hope that helps!

  19. How will it work if you want to link reservations to sit with others sailing in different cabins? Would everyone just make a reservation for the same time and when you show up, you would be seated together, or would you have to link confirmation numbers precruise like you do now for traditional seating?

In order to satisfy all guests’ preferences, we encourage guests to make restaurant reservations prior to their cruise. However, once onboard, guests will have the ability to make and edit reservations. We will continue to accommodate multiple guest reservations. Guests will be able to do this through a new planning and reservations tool available beginning on May 15th, 2014. You can find more commonly asked questions about Dynamic Dining here: http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Quantum/14037847_QN_Class_Culinary_FAQs.pdf

  20. How will those who follow special diets be accommodated? Specifically, I follow a vegan diet- will there be options for me at most of the dining venues?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

You can view the menus for each restaurant on RoyalCaribbean.com/DynamicDining, or you can request the Quantum Culinary Guide available through your Travel Professional.

As on all of our ships, Quantum is happy to assist guests with special dietary needs. Prior to your sailing, we recommend that you call our Access Department at (866) 592-7225 (voice), send an e-mail to special_needs@rccl.com, or have your local travel agent contact us for more information.

  21. I have 2 cruises booked on the Quantum. Could you tell me if there will be any options for solo's to be able to dine with others? I hate eating dinner alone, and will probably cancel if that isn't an option. Also will the Spa Junior Suite be included to dine in the Coastal Kitchen?

    Hello,

Absolutely. Solo guests can be accommodated by the restaurant onboard as you are seated. Coastal Kitchen is exclusive to our suite guests (Junior Suite and above). Thanks for your questions.
