THANKS EVERYONE for replying to quickly.

Can someone point me to the webcam for the Navigator? Or, has it left already. Emerald shows nothing but fog and Cruise Cam shows Carnival.

Unfortunately my plans do change frequently and although the cost is lower if purchased within a few days of the deposit date, I just wait until after final payment. Additionally, I only have experience with TravelGuard and the one time I had to file a claim didn't have a problem. They offer various levels of coverage and you can use the "compare" feature to determine which one works best for you. I'm not familiar with the other insurers but my guess is they have similar offerings.

You're welcome. :)
The normal Search Function has been disabled, however, if you look at the very top of the page you will see a box that says Search Cruise Critic. That has been there for quite a while and does work. Just a thought for next time.
THANK YOU. I completely overlooked that search box. I could have avoided scrolling through pages and pages of posts.

Hi. There will be plenty of activities to keep you from being bored. If you enjoy a lively nightlife or a general party atmosphere, Carnival may be your best bet. However, I'm partial to RCCL and always find something to keep me entertained. If you haven't already, check the Meet and Mingle forum for the May 4th RCCL sailing to get an idea of some of the people sailing on this cruise.

FamilygoBoston, I didn't save my Compass but if memory serves, the Silent Party was on night 2. It was held sometime between 10pm and 11pm, but if you plan to go, get there early before they run out of headphones. It's held in the dance area in the Viking Crown Lounge and the dance floor was extremely crowded. Music is only heard through headphones. And at times, depending on the song, a number of people will be singing along with the music and all an observer will hear is their voice, no music. Pretty entertaining.

Took a 3-day in October 2013 and the energy on the ship was great. The 2 negatives: too short, not enough time in Nassau. Of all the RCCL cruises I've taken, this was the best Quest ever. If you don't know what Quest is, just make sure you don't miss it - it's usually around 11 or 11:30pm. Also, this was my first experience with the Silent Party. Really Cool. Staff is great, ship is beautiful. Check out Park Café tucked away near the Solarium.

I enjoyed reading your review and always interested to hear a first-timers perspective. I've converted 2 of my co-workers who took their first cruises this past year. Both were apprehensive about being "stuck on a boat" but now they and their spouses are hooked on cruising.

5) The service that I had was FANTASTIC. Like Chris said, you get to know the bartenders. I never felt pressured to tip them extra. I tipped one of them $20 at the beginning of the week and gave her another $20 at the end. But she was the best bartender I've ever met on a ship - so, there's that. I tipped another guy an extra $2 on one of the drinks - I forget what he did, but I appreciated it enough that I tipped him extra.
(Some of) the drink menus will follow shortly.....
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. By chance was Arlene the bartender you are referring to?

I love reading reviews, especially those from a 1st time perspective. Can't wait to hear how the rest of your adventure unfolds. My guess is that you all had a great time on the Allure. I was apprehensive about sailing on such a large ship during spring break but it turned out to be one of the best cruises I've taken. I credit this to the ship and wonderful crew/staff.
Trying to call RCCL!

I've tried to call several times the past couple of weeks and just gave up due to the long hold times. I just held for 30+ minutes and was then disconnected (accidently). I'm back in queue trying to take advantage of the large price drop on an upcoming cruise. It is frustrating but if I can get the $300 price drop it will be worth it.
