  1. We just booked on the Reflection in January under this promotion. Seems like some people think this promotion is a joke and people are fools for booking.

However, we priced it about a week before the promotion started and it was over $6K. With promotion, it is just under $5K.

Are we fools for booking this? This is only our second cruise and our first with X so we don't know about the things really.

A1 balcony booked for 7 nights.

  2. Thanks very much for your replies and help everyone.

I finally found a photo that shows the washer platform parked up front. Even still, our cabin is below the level of the washer platform. Its funny that the cabin above ours, which is on level with the platform, is not listed as obstructed. I think they have their data mixed up.

Anyway, I'm sure our cabin will be just fine. This will be only our second cruise. Our first was on the NCL Getaway back in 2014. I did a trip report here:

This Celebrity cruise will be for our 25th anniversary and being close to 50, we are looking for a ship that is more refined and less of a "party boat" which the Getaway was.

The Celebrity Reflection has much deeper balconies than the Getaway from what I've seen. We also looked at Princess, but their balconies are also quite shallow compared to Reflection.

  3. I've read several posts in similar threads over time, and those that have stayed in that cabin report that you notice the window washing equipment, but it's not a concern at all. That's too nice a location to let it bother you.

Yes, I think it will be a great cabin. I'm just confused as to why it's considered obstructed view as the window washing equipment is nowhere near it.

  4. A search of Cruise Critic posts indicated that there is window washing equipment parked there, triggering the obstructed view rating. Nobody seemed too bothered about it.

Yes, I looked at various posts, but it seems the Silhouette has window washing equipment there, but all the photos I've seen of the Reflection show nothing parked there.

  5. Hi everyone,

We're booked on the Reflection this coming January and currently have cabin 1547 reserved.

This cabin is flagged as a partially obstructed view. I've studied many photos of this ship and for the life of me, I can't figure out what the obstruction is. If anything, the cabin above (2107) looks like it might be obstructed, but is not listed as such. I even phoned Celebrity but they weren't very helpful as they couldn't tell me exactly what the obstruction is.

I'm completely confused by this. Have a look at this photo. 1547 is partial obstructed but 2107 is not? I don't get it.

Can anyone who has been on this ship perhaps provide some insight?

    Many thanks!

  6. Beautiful photos! I'll be showing these to my family prior to our Getaway cruise next year.

Were you using any type of lens filter or polarizer?

I need to look at mirrorless cameras when I go to upgrade in the next couple of years...

Thanks! Yes, I used a polarizer for most of the outdoor shots. I literally just picked it up a couple of days before the cruise and had never used one before. I find it just makes the sunny day photos look much better.

I'm extremely happy with my mirrorless camera. I like the fact that it's constantly in "live view" and the same info appears on both the viewfinder and the rears screen.

Cairns, when you pull the photo up in Photobucket, you can copy the "IMG" link on the right side of the screen. This will allow you to post the linked photo into a forum. Here is your photo using the IMG link:

  8. Thanks....I very nearly broke my neck scrambling for the camera before that hole closed up.

Haha! Oh, I know that feeling well. Sometimes you see a shot and know you HAVE to get that camera in hand NOW. LOL.

You captured a great scene there. :)

  9. Wow oh wow! We will sailing Getaway in October and these photos I am viewing while we are having a gloomy chilly day have really got my spirits up!

Can you tell me where we would go to sign up for the Behind The Scenes Tour? Also, are children allowed? My 11 year old son would love this tour.

You can only sign up while onboard the ship. We signed up at the excursion counter on the ship. You can also sign up using the excursion form in the cabin or pick one up at guest services. It was $79 per person. Kids are allowed but the price is the same. In fact there was a girl about 8 or 9 years old in our group. She appeared very bored with the whole thing though! LOL.
