  1. We keep getting warned by carnival wedding to buy the lido buffet for our guests. They warn ominously that they don't want us to be upset or have upset guests on "your special day." I calculated the time, though, and if we board at 1130am and the wedding starts at 1pm. Then guests will likely get to Lido at 1145am and have to start making their way to the venue at 1230pm. So we'd be paying $9 per person plus tax for guests basically to run up to Lido, wait in long lines for a burger or a sandwich, and have to run down to the venue before they're done chewing. What does everyone think is the risk if a wedding just doesnt bother with it?

  2. We are paying almost 600 just for lido buffet. We are thinking it is a lit bit much once the food at the reception should be delicious.

I just can't believe they will "lock" the guests in an room ( in our case, main theater) because we are not paying for the buffet.

I have no problem in telling my guest not to eat before the reception.

I never heard a such a thing...about not been able to tour the ship! I am 25 days out and getting a little bit nervous about it.

  3. I spoke with Carnival yesterday about the buffet. What happen is if we don't pay for the buffet, the guests will be escorted to the venue, where the ceremony will take place and can be waiting for 1 hour and half. They don't even allowed the guest to explore the ship. I am not sure how true that is. I saw on this board guests having no problem walking around the ship. Any thoughts?

  4. Is it worth it to pay for the Lido Deck buffet for non sailing guests?

We are on the fence. We don't want to be "cheap" but at the same time we can't see there being much time for guests to eat between boarding and the ceremony.

    What say you all?

  5. I really would like to know when the photographer take the family and guests pictures with bride and groom...after the ceremony or from our precious 1 1/2 hour reception? It is a embarkation wedding and most of my guest won't sail (50 non sailing)

Any advice would be great! I am getting married on carnival legend in July.

  6. They don't advertise at all! If you call Carnival they will send you the list with pictures as well. I am having a hard time to upload with pics, so I just copy and paste. Hope will help. You will be able to choose one for your wedding, i really like the idea, because the waiters will walk around with your drink all the time!
