  1. I've been looking online and in store but really expected the prices to be lower, lol. I guess i'm greedy for bargains! I've had my eye on that gold sequin dress that a couple of ladies on here have...

I have that dress...there was one day that everything on clearance was either 40 or 50% off and they hadn't raised the prices yet. I got the dress and 2 sequin tops for $85. I wound up returning one of the tops so I paid $60 for the dress and top! The dress hasn't been that low again.

  2. Bought mine yesterday...thanks for the reminder. It is great to try the different items, but also to keep a travel size with me in my bag all the time. Having it there has saved me many trips to the drugstore when the sun appears when it wasn't supposed to and the SPF in moisturizer doesn't feel like enough.

  3. My concern is that it says to be careful with water and sunscreen. I'd like to be outside at the pool and I don't want to worry about them. Not sure what to do. I really do hope I'm worrying for nothing!

Better to have them on from the start. I would take Bonine..or you can get it for free from guest services. I would not tell the room steward you are sick...they will think you have noro. Ours was concerned that I didn't leave the cabin for a whole day but DH told him I was fine. I made sure I made an appearance the next day.
  4. I had to share my missing story---and this one is mine. A long, long time ago, when I was 4 or 5, my family was on vacation. When we came back, my beloved blankie was missing. Of course, it was white so it mixed in with everything. My mother went to housekeeping and then went with them to sort through their laundry room. I will never forget her triumphant smile as she walked back into the room carrying my blankie!! My kids now know the drill that anything like that gets put onto a chair so there is no mistaking it for dirty laundry!! By the way, that blankie still has a place of honor on my bed 40 years later!!:)

  5. I don't know where you live, but we book on Southwest as much as we can...the bags are free, but more importantly, if the fare goes down, they refund the difference. This way, we book it when we think it is good and, if it gets better, we just get the difference back (in a credit I think, but I'm not sure). This helps me since I am forever second guessing my timing so it alleviates a bit of the guilt!!

  6. So, I leave on my first cruise (sort of, but it's a long story :)) on Thursday. I ordered the queasy beads and have them. I have no idea if I will get seasick. I don't think I will, but wanted to be safe. This leaves my question: Will they work if I put them on if I start to feel seasick or do they have to be on before? I would rather save them in case I need them, but if they won't work after the onset of nausea then I will need to rethink. Can anyone advise me please?

  7. We must have bought the same sequin top. I am taking nail scissors to the sequins under the arm to get rid of them and the irritation. I will have to swing by the mall next weekend and see what the store has on sale.

I never thought to do that! It was a cute chevron top. I also bought the "party sequin top" which has a short sleeve and I kept it. No problem with that one--just the sleeveless one.

  8. i had to return one of the two tops I ordered with the dress. The sequins in the arm opening cut into me making wearing it very painful. I returned it to the store but it took a while. They are taking lots of returns and there is a new process. The clothes no longer get sent back so the woman said that there are different items in the stores now. She also suggested that I not order online unless I am absolutely certain since there are no returns after Wednesday.

  9. I have used dermablend before to cover scars. The good news is that it covers everything and blended right in looking very natural. It was waterproof and didn't budge. The bad news is that it took me a while to apply (blending and then powder) and it is heavy. I wore it to a wedding and also out for a while but finally decided that I noticed the scars more than anyone else and stopped using it. If you're going to use something though, I highly recommend it. I think I got it at macys and they spent a while teaching me the proper way to apply it. I think it's what you're looking for.

  10. I'm another lurker...we go on our first cruise in 12 years next week. I am loving looking at the dresses here. Kellane, I think it is wonderful that you are going to put the dress on and take a picture for your mom. I agree with the person who said that our moms don't see us as aging...I think she still sees you as a teenager and she will love seeing you in the dress. It is sweet of you to do that for her. Have a great cruise!

  11. Of your family on formal night! I think you will look beautiful. In fact, I want the second gown!! We are cruising for New Year's with extended family and I think we are all dressing up. I am searching and can't find what I like. Now I have and, unfortunately, it appears to be in your closet in Australia!!:p Wear the clothes and enjoy them knowing that your family is gorgeous!!

  12. Thanks for all of the ideas. I am a Deva Curl girl but tend to use Ouidad when it is humid. They seem to mix okay for me. I went and bought KCCC at Target and have used it a couple of times. I like the curls, but they seem to be crunchy. Am I using too much? Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

  13. I guess I am a lurker...we go on our first cruise in 12 years next month and then another in December with the family so I am in a total panic as a newbie. Biggest worry is what to wear and I was looking around and saw this thread. It certainly gives me an idea of how dressy to get...it also shows me what wonderful generous people are on CC. So happy to have found the site and you all!!:)
