For my booked cruise for August 3rd, I received the e-mail about being offered to take part in the upgrade program April 16th. And for my July 24th cruise I received the e-mail on April 6th. So more than three months in advance on both cruises.

    Thank you for this reply!!!

    Smooth sailing to you!

  2. Good Afternoon Everyone!

I know this is SOMEWHERE in the sea of posts about the Cheers program but searching through all of the topics was just toooooo much. 😞

Does the Cheers package apply to bottled water in the stateroom? We don't normally get any beverage programs so, we usually have a 12 pack of bottled water delivered to the room on embarkation day. I'm wondering if I need to do that for my next cruise that we purchased the Cheers program for our cabin. Thank you for any insight on this!

    Thanks,

    Flip

Lots of luck to OP, glad others have been successful with your same issue.

Anyone know if they give you a hard time if they can't read the LOT number.  The folks at the county health department where I got my 2 dose shot, were not exactly very neat with putting on the stickers and the second sticker covers some of the other.

Luckily date shows clearly for both shots, but the LOT # is not?

Stressing and wanting to move the sticker but afraid to make it "invalid"??

Thank you for that wish of luck! I'm not sure on that one. Things like that send me right over the edge LOL. From the responses I got about my 2 card issue, it would seem that would have been seen multiple times at the port and not be a problem. I hope someone else that has had the same issue can give you some peace of mind also. 🤞

I had the same situation.  I went to the same facility (county health department) for the two doses, and they gave me a separate card for each of the two doses.  They were accepted without question.  The agent who checked them was training a new person, and he explained to the new person that this happens occasionally and there is no problem as long as all the information is completed correctly.

    Awesome! Thank you!

Always have a backup plan. We have 5 BinaxNow test kits for 3 of us. I will schedule Rapid Tests at Walgreen and CVS as well for later in the afternoon 2 days out. If the BinaxNow are fine, then I call and cancel Walgreens and CVS. If there is an issue, then off to each of them to get results.

I did the same. LOL 2 testes for each of us to give a backup incase something went wrong on the 1st try. 🙂

I was given two cards from the beginning. I used them to cruise on the Dream last month. Not a word was said. I just showed them both cards and the dates. I keep them in a plastic sleeve so that one shows on one side and the second one on the other side.

Thank you soooo soooo much for the response. My stress level is so high with all of these protocols and variables. This is a huge stress reducer for me. Thank you!

  7. Hello fellow cruisers. When I received my 2nd dose of the covid vaccine, I did not have the card that was given to me for the 1st dose I took a month earlier. They entered the information for the 2nd dose on a new card so, I now have 2 Vax cards .. One for each dose. They are the official cards from the health department and  have all the required information on them. Has anyone else that has sailed with Carnival had this same situation? Is having the information on 2 different cards a problem?

    Thanks

  8. Thank you all for the GREAT responses. This makes me feel soooo much better. Our DMV in VA has JUST now started to take walk in service so he is going to try that tomorrow. Also, thank you for the heads up on DL needs for excursions. We were looking at one of the doon buggy/atv tours and he will need it if we do that. Aren't the trials and tribulations of parenthood fun?? LOL

    Thanks again everyone!!

Smooth sailings, champagne wishes, and caviar dreams be with you! 🥂

Not sure if everyone knows this yet or not but if you use oxygen or on dialysis you won’t be able to cruise this year. My sister is on oxygen and we just found out today that we cannot go on our November Mardi Gras sailing. So disappointed but I understand. Changed it to as Alaska cruise May 2022. Fingers crossed.

That has to be very disappointing. 😞 You, however,  have an amazingly positive attitude about it. I have my fingers crossed for you also. 🙂

Yes, it would take legislation to make an exemption in this case and nobody's going to sponsor such a bill in the current climate, especially considering that the likelihood of any major cruising happening in the US before Q4 or even into Q1 2022 is so low.

There actually already is one exception and that is if your ship flies an American flag. There is only one ship left flying an American flag and that is Norwegian's Pride of America that does the Hawaii run.

Either way you are all correct, it is EXTREMELY unlikely any change will be made in any case.

Here's to an early return to sailing!

    Cheers Ya'll

Well, I wasn't going to comment, because I haven't been on every ship (hardly any, just four different ones) so anything I say is just anecdotal, but the two times we've had an aft extended balcony, we did not experience any cigarette smoke. That was on Liberty and Sunshine.

We didn't experience any smoke issues on the aft extended on the Magic. It may have been because we were on the top deck for those rooms. I HIGHLY recommend deck nine. If you can, get one of the 2  center rooms. They are bigger rooms and the balcony is a tad bigger also because those rooms are circular across the back . 🙂

  12. I believe those aft extended balconies are the same as the ones on the Magic. We had the 9th floor which is the top rear balcony floor on the Magic. The top floor has a cover but the ones below are only slightly covered by the balcony above. If you are in the lower floor, the people above can see down into the front portion of your balcony. Only the top floor has the view from above blocked by a covering.

If you have not had an aft facing balcony they are nice. You get a great view of the ocean behind the ship. They are not as large as some other balconies. The balcony above can look down on you and there is a smaller partition between the balconies. We had one on the Dream an enjoyed it.

If you go to the top deck which is 9 on the Magic, there is an overhang and people above can not see down into your balcony. The floors below DEFINATELY have less privacy.

Actually, the aft extended balconies on the magic are bigger than the standard one. They are a few feet deeper. Standard is 35 sq ft and the aft extended is 60 sq ft
