  1. Hey everyone! We just booked our wedding today for 3/27/15 on the Carnival Liberty! DustinandStacy2015- that is just before your date. Have you guys gone on a tour. I would love for us to get down there and take a tour of the ship. Since we just booked today, I have not even been in contact with a wedding planner yet, hopefully she will contact me soon. I am currently looking for save the dates to send out:)

I look forward to chatting with you ladies over the next several months :)

YAY! We are not setting up a tour on the ship for a few reasons. 1. We did the same itinerary in 2012 and we liked 2/3 port stops. and 2. We want the ship itself to be kind of a surprise. The fiance thinks it would be fun this way! :) I agree. We are still up in the air on which vendor to book with. The licensing is so confusing in the Bahamas ( we get the general 24 hour rule) but with Carnival it just seems the packages aren't as good and you need to pay it all up front. Certain on Island vendors allow you to pay certain portions and they take care of your license for you so you just show up. There is so many choices and I just got back yesterday from being a Bridesmaid in a friends wedding in Las Vegas so now it's go time for me. We were just waiting to get back to really break everything down. So far we sent out the STD's (I posted them a few posts back) and we have booked our room (Aft View Extended Balcony) Now the next stop is to figure out the vendor and what we want for a reception. The hardest part is, there are so many options!!! I have added a few of you as friends on here so hopefully we can really start venting to each other! It will all be here before we know it!

  2. We made a final decision! We will be cruising on the Carnival Victory to Key West and Cozumel from Aug 27-31, 2015! We will be getting married in Key West, with a reception back on the ship.

I have a question about invitations - and I know this is completely against etiquette, but are actual invitations necessary? I just ordered our Save the Date cards and we have a website for people to reference for information about the trip and booking. We will be sending out the STD cards as soon as we get them, so people will be receiving them 14 months in advance. I was thinking, is it really necessary to send out an invitation? We have a group booking, so I am considering someone's booking as their RSVP - why is it necessary for me to send out the same information with an RSVP card to send back when nearly everyone who is going to travel with us will be booked by then? Maybe I am missing something here....if I am please enlighten me.

We have discussed this very thing..... We sent out the Save the Dates and we loved them. They were kinda spendy so we weren't sure about the Invitations. We have a website as well and keep referring people to it (on the STD's as well. ) We know its a small enough group going and we keep in contact with them quite frequently that invitations are just unnecessary. It would just be proving what we already know. However we might send out just a reminder post card or something similar just to get final, final answers. I don't know, it is hard to decide.

  3. I came across more questions again today......

    1. In order to have a reception back on the ship (island wedding) Do you have to book through Carnival for your on island wedding? It states you do on the website but I could of sworn I saw it somewhere that people book third party weddings on the island and still have the Carnival reception back on board.

    2. What if the itinerary changes? (it happens a lot with a tender port on the itinerary) Do most third parties change the date for you? I'm worried they wouldn't work with us VS Carnival might. The prices are just WAY better for a third party because they include everything we wanted (arches, walkway detail, flowers, music, pictures, sand ceremony) I know Carnival includes some of those things but some are add ons and I just don't want to start with a 2000 or so wedding package and end up with 4000 by adding on little things. So far we were looking at yourbahamasbeachwedding.com and it looks great for pricing and what not...but I'm worried A. If the itinerary changes they don't. and B. If we book through them can we still get the reception on board with Carnival?

    3. Sidenote of the reception on board Carnival. Here's where I'm confused. I see prices for each package on their website. They list what is included in each package. Prices are on there....it all makes sense right? NO then I contact Carnival and she sends me two separate emails. One with wedding ceremony prices and one with reception prices yet they still say the whole package on the ceremony prices.... I'm just really confused. http://www.carnival.com/~/media/CCLUS/Images/pdf/Weddingspricelistpdf.ashx That is the regular prices (we are looking into obviously the beach ceremony in Nassau) The price for the Time to Celebrate Big is 2,175 the Island ceremony is 2,125 then I have prices for the reception at 900.00. So CONFUSING! Did anyone else run into this? How did they describe it to you?( FYI I fully realize this sounds like a ramble lol but I'm getting so stressed trying to plan this shindig!)

I'm so glad I started this thread because honestly I'm going to need help from people with experience before I start pulling my hair out!

Well so far I have done:

-Save the Dates out and done.

-Bridesmaids dresses done and going to order in a few weeks.

  4. We're going to get married at Osprey Beach in Grand Turk, which is the first port of the cruise. We have ordered the bamboo arch with tulle (Malibu blue) and we have to wait for the wedding date to get closer to see if we can have a steel pan player for the ceremony. As far as the reception goes, it'll take place back on the ship. We upgraded it to 2 hours and have already ordered our 2 tier cake, which will be chocolate with vanilla cream and vanilla with coconut filling. We decided to play our own songs, so we're just going to have the sound technician. I didn't want the DJ as it required the reception to be in the club. We're also expecting between 40 and 50 guests with two of them boarding the ship just for the reception. I have already sent out our STD, which were heart magnets, which I ordered from magnetstreet.com. I was really impressed with the quality of them. My dress has already arrived :) and I'm waiting to get the bridesmaids together, which will consist of our two kids and my bestfriend, to try on the dresses that I have in mind for them.

Are you going with Carnival for the Ceremony? I didn't know they had add on things like the arches and what not.... do they have a price list for these items? And was the steel drum player from Carnival? We would like the 2 hour reception as well. What room are you choosing? I thought the only reception area was the night club. What does the sound technician all do? Sorry I have so many questions! :) We are booking this week so I haven't gotten to ask all of them yet.

  5. We are thinking island wedding. We are still trying to look at all details into doing so. I know the license stuff is a pain..... I also know the weather can be unpredictable but I still think it's worth it. I didn't come all this way (Minnesota) to get married inside....well that's just our opinion anyway :p but I guess there is just A LOT of details that go into a cruise wedding and I'm a little stressed. We just ordered Save the Dates today and now we are just really thinking...WOW this is real. We need to figure this all out now.

  6. Hey everyone, I thought I would start a thread for 2015 brides because I didn't see one yet. I am planning a cruise wedding on the Carnival Liberty a year from today! I have so many questions and this board is EXACTLY what I needed. Hopefully we can all share our knowledge to help each other out!
