The 12-n goes to 71’n. 
It’s crossing the artic circle ⭕️ 

and the most important thing, the scenery is completely different in the fjords compared to up north. 
 

When you do southern parts of Norway 🇳🇴 you have white villages, majestic fjords and waterfalls, multiple options of walking and hiking along the mountains surrounding the fjords. 
You have a lush green forest landscape and the water is often greener due to ice melt and its cold water. 
 

When you sail further north, passing the artic circle ⭕️ around Mo I Rana, the scenery changes. 
The mountains get sharper and higher. It’s straight from 0m ocean to 800m in a very steep angle 📐. 
You get lots of tiny islands and several white beaches and crystal clear water. (Think a Caribbean island beach 🏝️) But the temperature is not very high🤣. 
You still have some vegetation, trees and green grass. But the trees are getting lower. It will not be tall trees and the future north you go, the lower they will grow. 
When you are passing Lofoten, arriving in Tromsø. 
The nature starts to be “stripped” think gray, a little greenish and no trees. If it’s a tree, it will be maximally around 1.5m. 
The mountains is more rounded and you don’t have the sharp angles as in Helgeland. 
 

it’s really special and completely different from the fjords. 
And the wildlife is also very different. 
 

If you have time, I strongly recommend to do a full trip to North Cape 71’n.

I was onboard the 2-first segments of the Edge 52/n. Rome-Singapore. 
So it was a special out of the box sailing. In my signature my live from this cruise and other cruises is listed. 
I strongly recommend that you read….

It will give a good idea of what we as a passenger value and enjoy onboard⚓️💙⚓️(and how X not always deliver in the attention to detail) Because it happens🙃 No one is perfect 24/7. 

For those special sailings, I know Apex just did the 12-n Norwegian sailing. 
It’s a good itinerary, but it can be even better. Some important things are missing. 
 

For a grand ultimate Norway 🇳🇴 cruise, you need to add some extra stops and at least 14.days. 
 

Start/stopping point: Southampton or Amsterdam/Rotterdam

Ports of call during the sailing: 

-Bergen

-Stavanger

-Flåm

-Olden

-Åndalsnes 

-Trondheim

- Lofoten Island, Svolvær

-Tromsø

-Alta

-Honningsvåg 

Then you have majestic fjords and the naked scenery in the north. 
It’s plenty of things to do and a good mixture of culture, nature and scenery activities. Hiking, biking, swimming, viewing and scenic sights.

But is it’s just the cash bid that counts?

I would give an offer for 1000$ for an upgrade and it’s just the bid that is counting for yes or decline. 
 

Option 2 

Base fare paid 5400$ for cruise and I’m giving a bid of 1000$.

The majority of the young people move when you go to high school. 
Depending on what line you pick, you need to move either to Alta, Kirkenes etc. 

So it’s a good observation from the young ones😉

So that means they are only home for holidays and maybe a weekend during the school year. 
And if you go to the university, you live away…..

Some people return to Honningsvåg. But the majority lives somewhere else for many years or never move back……
 

The school is in Honningsvåg now. It’s from 1-10 Grade. 
So it’s a school bus for everyone who lives some where else on Magerøya. 
 

When Jarle grew up, it was a school in Kamøyvær. 
My father in law was a teacher at that school. 
He used to bike from Honningsvåg to Kamøyvær every day, unless it was a full storm.

For those thinking of a screaming choir and angry grumpy ladies... @conquesodor and for cooperate ( Laura) when it comes to Coco Cay and the shorter cruises.....

See this from our point of view.

-First of all, you need to fly far away to be able to do a warm climate cruise. In the winter season we have 2 options. Eiter Asia or Caribbean. The Mediterranean are not shorts and sandals.

For us to go to MIA or FLL it takes us at least 15h if we get a easy going flight each way.

Singapore is 12/14hours on a decent routing.

We need to travel from Norway OSL.  

-Then we need to adjust our timezone pluss or minus 6/7h.

For me personally I have no problems to adjust the time. But my Mr is having a bit more difficulties. 

- To travel all this way to do a 3-4-5/n cruise is crazy for us. Then it needs to be a part of a b2b of a longer cruise. So it ends up as at least 12/14N cruise. 

So every time they roll out the new itineraries and I see a long line of shorter cruises on several ships, I know this means less options for us to pick from on 7days+. 

AND

I'm not travelling all this way to go to an aqua park...... Then I could just visit my local aqua park (I go there when my nephews are visiting and we are together with friends and their children in the weekends) 

Im not grumpy, but if you have followed my lives, you know what I want from a cruise and my holiday time. 

If you read my live thread from SIL Easter 2023, we did this combo.

It did not call at Coco Cay. 

What you will find is that the ship went from an elderly demographic to a very young demographic. Several families and young people on a party mission. 

And what happens is that the vibe on the ship completely changes. For some it might be better but for our wish, it's not for the better. 

Im not joking when I say we where vitnes of no more then 4 "will you merry me?" questions on our short 4/n sailing. A big congratulation to all the happy couples❤️ Sky lounge is a popular place to ask the big question💍

So really something for the UK market and European guests.

I really hit the I-miss-cruising fever this week🫠  7days on INF was just 2-3 days to short....(not that I haven't sailed this year😆)

And if they ask any to attend something, it's probably just US marked. And maybe the UK market for sailings connected to Southhampton destinations.

Im one of the younger people... We find the 4/n sailings very unattractive, it too much party and nothing X stands for in our opinion. 

We will never do shorter then 7/days and prefer 10 to 20.nights. 

We have searched on Coco Cay, watched YouTube , we are really not sold in any way. 

We see several dollars extra for what we want, how we want to spend our day. 

So if you really want to listen to your "core" guest who chose X in the beginning over Royal, please rethink Coco Cay or at least make sure its only X ship calling that day.

I made an appointment with Panagiotis from the Cruise Sales team (he is not the manager at the moment, so I stand corrected reg. my earlier statement).

 

If you intend to book a cruise on board: Go see him. He is so nice and funny - it is a real treat talking to him.

And also: He was able to work a little magic and get me an insane deal on a 7N cruise for next year. We will be going to Greece - which I love - and Santorini which I had always wanted to see and Mykonos (same).

 

 

The other ports are nice as well -with the exception of maybe Kusadasi which is not my favorite port but we will definitely try and see Ephesus this time since my DH is a history buff.

 

It is only 7N so we will hopefully add a couple of days in Athens and/or Piräus first. 

Should any of you have a recommendation for a nice hotel, that would be great!

I attended a ships visit in Oslo on Saturday. AZ had turnaround day in OSLO!!!!

She was continuing on a Norwegian cruise... (yes I had it in my vision when it was opened for booking.... it was SO tempting to take the bus from my house to the pier and leave on a Norwegian artic cruise.... that would really be something)

I was invited for lunch, since I bring the Queen and a entourage of 21 balcony cabins next September in Greece😎 Mr had to stay home(he was not invited...I asked for a pluss one, denied)

Did I like what I saw😆 Oh YES....

Was the lunch good..... YES

Would Mr enjoy it.... YES🥹

Oh my....I smell trouble in the future.....😂
