I would personally say a step up from little Caesar's for sure, then again that is not a high standard to reach. I actually never found it all too bad. It's likely nowhere near you're favorite local joint, but it's edible and it is in fact pizza.

The difference on the ship being you can get everything on the menu for one price, (except the milkshake) not just burger fries and a drink.
In reality with how heavy that food is you generally can't eat anymore then one entree, a side dish, and a drink anyway. Don't get me wrong, if people will pay it can't really fault RC for charging it.

Hmmm, I can get a burger/fries/drink at McDonalds for under $7, hopefully the burger is better on the ship.....
Ya, $10 is more or less what it already costs pp for someone to dine at Johnny Rockets on land. Seems as if it's not subsidized by the cruise fare anymore.

As one of the comedians joked on my last cruise into Falmouth, "Take the excursion where you stay on the ship and don't get shot"

The Oasis-class ships by Royal Caribbean are just awe-inspiring. They provide multiple "neighborhoods", a carnival boardwalk themed outdoor section, a beautiful park in the heart of the ship. It breaks up the feel of the ship so it doesn't start feeling repetitive like some other boats do.

I am neither female or middle aged. I get it. For me, it goes away in a few days and it is no real problem.

Same for me

I can't believe it even though it happens often! As long as we tip with money that isn't theirs, what does it matter?
I appreciate threads like this because I often learn something. While I tip the room stewards and dining stewards if they make any attempt to make my vacation extra special, I had forgotten about tipping for room service. I have been told that employees sign up for extra duty delivering room service, in the hope of picking up a few extra dollars. We tip $2 each time we order room service. A small amount to give for the convenience. Necessary? Nope. But it's what we do.
I'd find it easier to be a lot more generous with room service tipping if I wasn't being charged $7.95 for it by RC

I swear I recall the charge being $5/pp several years ago when I sailed on the Oasis

I really started to believe your review. I wanted to believe your review. But come on. 15 beers in a FEW HOURS? Are you kidding me? That's a 2-3 hour straight chugging session. I didn't even drink that much in college. A lot of people would pass out and possibly even have alcohol poisoning after drinking 15 beers in 2 hours.
This is a joke...right?
Perhaps he's talking Utah beer?

I would totally eat that banana split!
I was also thinking that banana split looks delicious

I can't do rising tide out of sheer paranoia of what happens if I have to use the restroom

Central park is just a great luxury to have, I feel a ship would just be stuffy without it.

My kids swear by Uber, never a taxi anymore...
I mean, come on now. Taxis are great if you like to pay double, ride in a dirtier, older car with someone who refuses to turn on the AC, and wait 30-60 min for him to appear
-
I cannot support playing Rage Against the Machine enough unfortunately, let's get more of that genre blasting throughout the entirety of the ship at all times please

Do cruise lines utilize overbooking like airlines do?

This is why I worry about older ships. The Oasis is 9 years old and you claim it has plenty of grime which makes its age evident. I seem to equate the newest possible ship to cleanliness

I generally prefer to just link up with the agency directly and save what usually ends up being like 30%.

I had a Central Park balcony on the Allure before and I actually enjoyed it. It was quiet and nice. I would argue somewhat more eventful then ocean view balconies as it enables you to people watch. Also provides a nice atmosphere to pop a bottle of wine or enjoy an in-room breakfast overlooking what's essentially a city view balcony.

Forgive me if this has been asked before, I looked briefly and did not happen upon it.
If two adults in the same cabin purchased the drink package as they are mandated to, what is the procedure if I for example wanted to buy a drink for someone else a la carte? Can a la carte drinks still be charged to a card that has a drink package? Or am I just incapable of buying someone a drink?

Thank you all for the input. I ended up deciding to book a trip on the new Symphony of the Seas. Figured I would miss all the open space too much.

Hello all,
I'm trying to decide on a cruise far in the future (almost a year from now) and can't decide between putting a deposit down and taking the Anthem out of NJ or riding the Allure or Oasis out of Florida.
I live in New England so ease and affordability of transport to NJ over Miami is a plus. I have ridden both the Allure and the Oasis before and even though the Anthem is newer I'm wary of the limited amount of open air space it seems to have compared to the bigger, older ships. Thoughts? Has anyone here ridden both? Is the Anthem stuffy relative to the Allure/Oasis? I feel like I would miss Central Park. Cannot decide if I should spring for a new ship and a new itinerary or take the same ol' route on the same ol' boats I've done before just because I know what I'm getting.
Thanks in advance :)

I haven't been able to access my cruise countdown or online check in

Alright, so this is my first cruise on Royal since the policy on wine has changed. My question is pretty simple, where is one the get a hold of a wine opener to enjoy their drink on their balcony rather then pay the corkage fee? Should I bring one? Do I simply ask my cabin steward?

I traveled on the Oasis a few years back with extended and immediate family when I was 19. Was too old to hang out with my 14-17 year old cousins and too young to hang out with my 21+ family >.> Thankfully I'm in the latter category for my allure cruise this Sunday!
