  1. I bought new pillow cases recently and they came in very nice heavy plastic zippered bags/cubes. I almost tossed them out but found they make excellent packing cubes. One holds all the phone/camera charging cords, batteries, adapters etc. The other is filled with other small stray necessities like post it notes, travel sized toilet seat covers, eyeglass repair kit. You know, all that little stuff.

I do this as well. I keep the zipper bags that my sheet sets come in as well as the cloth bags that they are packaged in as well. They come in handy when packing. When I get a bag like that I just throw it into the suit case that way it is not hard to find when packing time comes.:D

Just happened across your review and I have to say that I loved your song and I did sing it in the tune of Gilligan's Island. lol!:D

  3. my cruise planner under dining has a banner that says 30% OBC on day 1 when you book 3 spec dining reservations in advance. sending a link won't work since i have to bee logged in to see it. maybe its only for specific sailings.

That is where I had seen it as well but in the email it does state that it could be up to 30% but I am not sure now. and even though it said that I could start booking now every time I try it says "were sorry you cant book now please try on board." So I havent ad the chance to see what its about

  4. If I plan to snorkel on my cruise, then I will bring my own mask, snorkel and fins. :)

You can bring your own, its cheaper if you already own them or can find them at a good price. Just know that some places (mainly the private islands owned by cruise ships )make you rent the snorkeling life vest.

  5. On the Grand Princess, can someone tell me what the smoking areas are?

Casino for sure. some of the bars may allow smoking. It really varies from cruise line to cruise line. I usually just ask one of the cruise staff and they will point you in the right direction!

  6. I was planning on staying on the ship on one of the port days but I was told that they don't offer lunch on port days and you will have to get off the ship and fend for yourself. Is this true? I'm going NCL.

Dont worry, there is always food somewhere on a cruise ship. Have fun!

  7. On RRCL You can put what ever amount you want on your account. When it runs out you have to put more on the account. They wont let you spend more than you have on there. I like using a cash account that way I keep up with how much I have spent better than using a credit card. It worked out well for me. My last cruise I think I started with 250, but my gratuities were prepaid. I only ended up adding about 100 more and then just settled up the night before the cruise was over and got what I had left in my account. Hope this helped.

  8. I have heard of people putting duck tape around a pen to have just in case something happens, suitcase issues mostly. One thing that I would say dont forget is air freshener. Those rooms are small and sometimes there are not so pleasant smells coming from other cabins as well. You know what I mean lol. Also larger alligator clips come in handy for holding down your towel on deck, and other things like if the sun is coming through the curtain when you are trying to sleep just clip it together.

  9. I use a backpack. It really depends on what you want. Any thing to put stuff you buy in port, a bottle of water and camera in. I like a little bigger pack that way I can put my towel, sweater and such in there as well. You may want to think about that when going to a colder climate. If you get hot you may want a place to stow your extra layers. :o

  10. It sounds like you have a good start to what you are bringing. I would suggest an extra swimsuit, more t shirts. A tote bag for lugging your stuff up to the pool deck and to the beach. I also take a backpack so that if I am shopping in port I can just cram the goodies in it. and keep my hand free. You may also want to bring a power strip and a hanging door organizer type thing for extra storage room. Most of all just bring a good attitude and have fun!

  11. You need to make Reservations at 5 restaurants for the 30% off. Reservations at 3 restaurants is 20% off and reservations at 4 restaurants is 25% off. Just off the Freedom and had the 20% off deducted automatically for our 3 reservations.

On the Royal website it comes up and says get back 30% obc on your 1st day when you book 3 reservations. I think it may only come up when you are in the cruise planning section. And it also says get an extra 20% when you make a reservation for your 1st night onboard. Hope this helps
