1. Here's the reply from PRINCESS in mid March to my inquiry about SEA MESSENGER

The popular Princess@Sea web site is now live on nine ships. Using the free Princess@Sea web app, guests can use their laptop, smartphone, or tablet to easily access information about dress codes, events, gangway details, itineraries, menus, ports, weather, view stateroom account charges in real time, and more. In addition, guests can speak with other guests on the same cruise using the Princess@Sea Messenger.

Princess@Sea is currently available on the following ships:

    • Caribbean Princess

    • Coral Princess

    • Crown Princess

    • Emerald Princess

    • Golden Princess

    • Regal Princess

    • Royal Princess

    • Ruby Princess

    • Sapphire Princess (English and Simplified Chinese.)

In a short time, Princess@Sea has proven to be a popular and useful innovation for our guests. Work is underway to complete installation of Princess@Sea - and in more languages - before the end of 2015.

    Sincerely,

    Princess Cruises

  2. My understanding is that on-board Friends of Bill W. meetings are "open" and that anyone, including people involved in 12-step programs other than AA, are welcome to attend.

Has anyone involved in a food-related 12-step program gone to one of these meetings?

    Thanks -

    RB

I have been to a few "Friends with Bill W" meetings as a Non AA.

My experiences have been good. Most are Quite supportive. I guess the question as to whether to identify yourself, is purely your choice. I did not in certain circumstances. others I did. (Depending on the situation, I guess)

I did talk about my experiences in 12 step program and Shared What was going on at the time of the meeting. All in all Very positive. I have always been thankful when they are available, announced in the bulletins and people are willing to attend.

Hope you come back and share your good experiences. happy cruising!

  3. Can you SHARE your positive experiences?

Princess seems to schedule 1 sailing from Seattle to Vancouver and then the next day they schedule A DIFFERENT ship to DO the same route Seattle to vancouver. I want to do them BOTH but don't want to miss the SECOND SAILING!!

    Hello,

I am looking for help. I want to figure out transportation between Vancouver b c to Seattle pier so i can EMBARK on a cruise from Seattle that same day.

Please don't say the train. IT won't get me there in time. I also checked out the bus.

HAS anyone done this back to back cruises (both one days) in a weekend? how did you make the travel portion work out.?

thank you for ALL your experience and help.

    :)

  4. Hi,

First of all , Have a Wonderful time! :)

I think for me it depends. Sometimes I just sit somewhere with a book and read. Alot of times, like others, I just sit and watch the sea.

I hope you have a wonderful time.

    Cheers.

  5. We are on an Alaskan cruise leaving from Vancouver and returning to Seattle. We are from NY. I've priced 1 way airfare NY-Vancouver and from Seattle-NY. We'd really like to go non-stop. Prices are around $550pp for the trips as stated.

Now I'm thinking since it is cheaper, maybe we could do a RT NY-Seattle. What's the best way to get from Seattle to Vancouver for embarkation and how long does it take and how much would it cost? Wondering if it's worth the cost/trouble. Only other advantage doing RT Seattle-NY is that we can fly out of a closer airport to our home. The other way above, we have to fly out of Newark, NJ which is a longer drive. We plan to park our car at the airport.

One other question....Is it too risky to fly into Vancouver day of embarkation if the flight is supposed to arrive by 11am? This trip is very costly for us so we are trying to avoid hotel stays.

    Thanks!

I have taken the train from Seattle to Vancouver Many times. I enjoy the Train trip. Other ways I suppose are Shuttle Services or Flying into Vancouver from Seattle or from your home. I would not risk flying in the same day, (For me) I would be a bit nervous as to connections for getting to the ship. SO, I would almost always choose to stay in the city for a night and go to the ship from a hotel.

    Best,

  6.
Canaletto is the weakest link in the specialty restaurants.
I used to Love the Canaletto. this was when it was an additional choice of evening dining WITHOUT a Surcharge.

I have to say that I would probably NOT want to pay for it as an additional charge.

I liked it because it was out of the way, not utilized a huge amount and very quiet and good food. (2010 and 2011.)

    thanks for listening.
  7. Pris- thank you so much for sharing your experiences. thats very valuable.

My question is What is CODE sharing on a flight? and what do you mean by a Primary Carrier(airline). thanks again!!

Been cruising for 30+ years, let me think:

Booking a Disney world package thru TA following a Carribean cruise. We spent the entire day at Miami airport waiting for a flight, when we could have driven there in less time. When we finally arrived at our hotel near Disney world, found the pool had been closed by the health department. The travel company had substitute hotels from the one we had selected, found that was okay in the fine print. That was the last package we ever booked.

Putting up with a rude head waiter for 10 days, thinking his attitude would change, never did. We learned our lesson, now we would speak up and change tables.

Flying on a code share, realized if you don't book with the primary carrier you are a second class citizen on the flight. Now we always fly and book with the primary carrier and avoid code share flights.

Booking air and or hotel through TA or cruise line. We can do better on our own and we then are in control of our bookings.

Inviting someone we ran into from our home town on a cruise to join our table for two (a 4 top) for one night, on a 12 night cruise. They stayed for the entire cruise and were not very good company.

Trying to do it all on a very port intensive cruise in the Mediterranean. Arrived in Barcelona exhausted, we spent our 3 day stay at a 5 star hotel sleeping. We have learned to pace ourselves.
